Declaring 'We all believe in something...don't we?,' The Drilling Company has set a short play project on the subject. The troupe (www.drillingcompany.org), known as a home for award-winning writers, has saved the theater where they made their home for the last ten years and in September 2009, assumed the lease on the venue formerly known as the 78th Street Theatre Lab, citing their faith in the space.

The Flea Theater presents the World Premiere of PARENTS' EVENING, a two-hander by Bathsheba Doran. Directed by Flea Artistic Director Jim Simpson, the production stars Julianne Nicholson (Law & Order: Criminal Intent) and James Waterston (A.R. Gurney's Buffalo Gal).

Declaring 'We all believe in something...don't we?,' The Drilling Company has set a short play project on the subject. The troupe (www.drillingcompany.org), known as a home for award-winning writers, has saved the theater where they made their home for the last ten years and in September 2009, assumed the lease on the venue formerly known as the 78th Street Theatre Lab, citing their faith in the space. To mark the occasion, at the time of the takeover they commissioned nine emerging playwrights to write short works on the subject of faith. The entire project, titled 'Faith,' will be presented as a two hour evening May 6 to 23.

The Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.) will opens its 2010-11 season with the world premiere of MIDDLETOWN, a play written by Will Eno (THOM PAIN), and directed by Ken Rus Schmoll, it has been announced by Douglas Aibel, Artistic Director for the Vineyard Theatre. Previews are to begin October 6, with an official opening night and casting TBA.

The Flea Theater will end the run of its controversial production of GIRLS IN TROUBLE by playwright provocateur Jonathan Reynolds, performed by The Bats and directed by Jim Simpson on April 11th. In this bold drama, Mr. Reynolds, whose previous controversial play, Stonewall Jackson's House (short listed for the Pulitzer Prize), took on issues of racial victimization, has turned his attention to women's rights and abortion.

The Flea Theater announces a second extension of its controversial
production of GIRLS IN TROUBLE by playwright provocateur Jonathan
