The Great Canadian Theatre Company with the County of Carleton Law Association will be presenting Friedrich Dürrenmatt's The Visit from May 31st to June 3rd for the 23rd Annual Lawyer Play Fundraiser. Justice is a common theme in the works of Swiss playwright Dürrenmatt, and so it is fitting that a cast of lawyers and legal professionals will be in the spotlight playing villains, victims and criminals.

A lot went down on tonight's episode of OUTLANDER. And I mean a lot. So much, in fact, that it felt like the type of episode that would pave the way for one heck of a season finale. But guess what, folks? We still have six episodes to go! So if this is Ronald D. Moore's idea of a typical filler episode, well then my goodness, color me impressed.

This week's episode of OUTLANDER picks up right where we left off, with the young Jeremy Foster, flanked by his English comrades, asking Claire if she is with the Mackenzies by her own volition. Brief dramatic pause. Claire smiles warmly, gives a big ol' “Yup!” and it's another crisis averted. Sort of. Foster's happy for her and everything, but his commander will still want to see her. Y'know. Just to be sure. So off Claire goes with the gang of Brits, and she finds it comforting to finally be surrounded by her “own people” for the first time since falling through the stones, being looked at with sympathy rather than suspicion. Lord Oliver Thomas greets her happily, delighted by her tales of robbery and murder. No, like, really delighted. It's kind of weird, actually. He's insufferable, dissing Dougal and his clansmen right to his face. I mean, he even makes fun of his accent, and I'm sorry, Lord Thomas, but literally everyone loves a Scottish accent, so excuse you. Claire politely defends the Highlanders, and is ultimately rewarded with an offer of an escort back to Inverness. Oh, Ms. Beauchamp, could the day get any better?

What will it take for a grieving, broken heart to mend? Dorothea Sawatzky answers this question in a poignant story that portrays how the hands of fate can devastate a person and how one manages to gradually pick up the pieces to restore the self and be back up again in her debut novel titled Lily Of The Valley.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced the full slate of 27 musical productions, a developmental reading series and special events for their seventh annual festival. This year's Festival will begin September 27th and continue through October 17th. A full breakdown of this year's performances follows.
