Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF presents To Kill a Mockingbird from January 21 - March 8, 2015. Directed by Thomas Ouellette (Race, Romeo and Juliet, and Pride and Prejudice), Christopher Sergel's adaptation of Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize winning novel comes to life on the Margeson Theater stage. Also part of the Classic Repertory Series, Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor (February 4 - March 7) and Henry V (February 18 - March 22) will play concurrently. Stage and screen star Lucie Arnaz will direct a reading of Hazel: A Musical Maid in America, a new musical composed by Ron Abel with lyrics by Chuck Steffan, and book by Lissa Levin, Edward Kleban Award-winning playwright and Emmy Award-nominated producer. The special two-day event will take place today, October 23rd and tomorrow the 24th at the June Havoc Theatre at the Abingdon Theatre Company in New York City. Klea Blackhurst will play the title role.

Abingdon Theatre Company, in an ongoing effort to recognize excellence in playwriting, established the Christopher Brian Wolk Award to be presented annually to an American writer of a full-length play not produced in New York City. The award is based upon the writer's demonstrated ability to reach a mature artistic vision using theatre. Playwright Sheldon Bull will receive the $1,000 cash award and a staged reading of his script MALLORCA, directed by Donald Brenner (GREAT EXPECTATIONS), at the award ceremony, December 16, starting at 7:00PM in the June Havoc Theatre, 312 West 36th Street in Manhattan.

A Proper Place, a new musical based on J.M. Barrie's 1902 play The Admirable Crichton, will be presented in two exclusive performances to a room full of invitation-only theatre enthusiasts and industry professionals in New York City today, September 17, 2013.

The new musical, 'A Proper Place,' was penned by Leslie Becker (Bonnie & Clyde, Anything Goes, Nine) and Curtis Rhodes and concerns 'an upper class British family that gets shipwrecked on an island,' according to press notes. 'With only their butler to help them survive, traditional class systems are questioned and unexpected love blossoms.'
