Gold Coast International Film Festival Announces 2016 Dates and Film Submission Deadlines

The Gold Coast International Film Festival (GCIFF) returns this Fall with the 6th anniversary of its star-studded festival. From November 10 - 15, 2016 the Festival will once again celebrate the films and filmmakers who capture our imaginations on the big screen.

The Making of America's Musical- 1776: The Story Behind the Story

As America celebrates its 240th Birthday today, let's talk about what is probably one of the greatest musicals ever written, and it only came about 46 years before Hamilton. 1776 dramatizes the story of how John Adams was able to persuade his colleagues to vote for American independence as well as signing the Declaration of Independence. While the musical does dramatize the most important event in American history, the story behind the musical is probably just as interesting.

Writers Theatre Extends 'DEATH OF A STREETCAR'

Writers Theatre, under leadership of Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma, announces a second two-week extension of Death of a Streetcar Named Virginia Woolf: A Parody created by Tim Ryder and Tim Sniffen, written by Tim Sniffen and directed by Stuart Carden and Michael Halberstam. Due to demand, the production now runs through August 14, 2016, as the inaugural production of the Gillian Theatre at Writers Theatre's new theater center at 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe.

Fort Caspar Launches 2016 Free Summer Lecture Series Today

Fort Caspar Museum presents its annual FREE summer lecture series for 2016. The lectures will be held on seven consecutive Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm, from today, June 8th to July 20th. Each presentation will focus on a different 'Impression on Wyoming,' from past to present and from east to west. These free programs are funded in part by the Fort Caspar Museum Association and the Wyoming Humanities Council.

 The National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announces its 59th NNPN Rolling World Premiere (RWP): Relativity by Mark St. Germain. The Roll includes NNPN Core Members Florida Studio Theatre (Sarasota, FL, June 24-July 2) - which originally commissioned the play - and Riverside Theatre (Iowa City, IA, March 31-April 15, 2017), as well as Associate Members Taproot Theatre Company (Seattle, WA, March 26-April 29, 2017) and Northlight Theatre (Skokie, IL, May 11-June 18, 2017).
