Atlanta Symphony To Perform Soundtrack to 'Pirates of the Caribbean,' 11/23-24

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will bring the soundtrack of Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl to life in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center November 23-24, 2012, at 8:00 p.m. Guest Conductor Richard Kaufman, who has devoted much of his musical life to conducting and supervising music for film and television productions, will lead the Orchestra and the Atlanta Vocal Project in the score from the movie, which will be shown on a giant screen.

November 1-3, 2012, 8:00 p.m.: Guest conductor Asher Fisch will lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in Richard Strauss's Death and Transfiguration and excerpts from Wagner's Die Meistersinger. Pianist Stewart Goodyear will join the Orchestra for Mozart's Rondo in D Major and Piano Concerto No. 24.

WWE Diva Eve Torres emerged victorious in Monday night's final competition of NBC's action-packed competition series 'Stars Earn Stripes' as she beat out fellow finalists Nick Lachey, Todd Palin, Picabo Street and Dean Cain. As the grand prize winner on the season finale, Torres gained $100,000 for her charity, the USO (www.uso.org), and including her other winnings during the show's run, contributed a total of $150,000 to the organization. A total of $380,000 was raised for all of the charities represented in the program.
