Naked Angels, the eclectic downtown theater company that recently partnered with the New School for Drama under the leadership of Naked Angels founding company member Pippin Parker, is pleased to announce that New School alumna Liz Carlson will assume the role of Artistic Director of Naked Angels beginning May 1, 2013, further enhancing the relationship between the two companies. Current Artistic Director Andy Donald, who succeeded Geoffrey Nauffts in July 2011 after two years as Associate Artistic Director, departs the company for a new position as a creative producer at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

Making Books Sing (MBS), the critically acclaimed New York-based nonprofit that promotes children's literacy and social development through professional Theater Productions and arts-in-education programs, presents its second and final production of the 2012-2013 season WANDA'S MONSTER The Musical, with music & lyrics by kindie rock sensation Laurie Berkner ('The Laurie Berkner Band') and book by Barbara Zinn Krieger (THE BUTTERFLY), based on Eileen Spinelli's book 'Wanda's Monster,' from today, April 19 through May 12 at the company's new Off-Broadway home - Theater 3 (311 West 43rd Street) in Manhattan.

Casting has been announced for "The Scottsboro Boys," which begins previews May 21 at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre at the Los Angeles Music Center. Opening night is May 29 and performances run through June 30, 2013.

New Georges presents the World Premiere of Lynn Rosen's (Apple Cove with Women's Project) GOLDOR $ MYTHYKA: A HERO IS BORN directed by Shana Gold (Food and Fadwa with New York Theatre Workshop) now through April 27 at The New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street between Greenwich and Washington). Berkshire Theatre Group and Artistic Director/CEO, Kate Maguire, are excited to announce three additions to its 85th summer season: the 8th Annual Children's Theatre Production, Peter Pan, at The Colonial Theatre, Just So Stories, by Rudyard Kipling, at The Neil Ellenoff Stage and a special writers workshop with Hunter Bell, of the Tony nominated show, [title of show].

On Monday evening, April 8th at the finale of Marty Richards' star-studded-sold-out Memorial to benefit his beloved New York Center For Children, which he co-founded with his wife Mary Lea Johnson Richards, Chita Rivera quieted the crowd to make an important announcement regarding the future of the American Theatre and the New York centric film and television's East Coast community. Dan Gallagher and Michael Milton, Mr. Richards' co-workers and right-hand visionaries for over fifteen years, have power-teamed with Producer/General Manager, Cheryl Dennis, to form the new Producer Circle Co. with offices in Manhattan.

Long Wharf Theatre concludes its 2012-13 season with Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning play Clybourne Park, by Bruce Norris, and directed by Associate Artistic Director Eric Ting. The play will take place on The Claire Tow Stage in the C. Newton Schenck III Mainstage from May 8, 2013 through June 2, 2013.

The Old Globe will open its 2013-14 Season with The Last Goodbye, a new musical that marries Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and the incendiary songs of the legendary singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley. Conceived and adapted by Michael Kimmel, the rock musical is directed by two-time Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers (Peter and the Starcatcher, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson). Choreography is by Sonya Tayeh ("So You Think You Can Dance"), and orchestrations, music direction and arrangements are by Kris Kukul. The complete creative team and casting, as well as the remainder of the Globe's new season, will be announced at a later date. The Last Goodbye will run on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, Sept. 20 - Nov. 3, 2013. Preview performances run Sept. 20 - Oct. 5. Opening night is Sunday, Oct. 6. Tickets are currently available by subscription only. Red Branch Theatre Company opens [title of show], their first mainstage production of the 2013 season entitled 'Red Branch: Write On!' tonight, April 5, 2013.

Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.) will produce the world-premiere of the musical THE LANDING this fall, with music by the Tony Award-winning composer John Kander and book and lyrics by Greg Pierce, kicking off the company's 2013-14 season, it has been announced by Douglas Aibel, The Vineyard's Artistic Director, and Sarah Stern, Co-Artistic Director.

THEATER TALK celebrates the 30th anniversary of Off-Broadway's Vineyard Theatre - home to notable productions including Pulitzer Prize winners Three Tall Women by Edward Albee and How I Learned to Drive by Paula Vogel, and the Tony Award-winning musical Avenue Q - in an all-new episode premiering at 1 a.m. on Friday, April 5 (2013; early Saturday morning) on Thirteen/PBS, and continuing in New York City on CUNY TV* Saturday at 8:30 PM, Sunday at 12:30 PM, and Monday at 7:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 7:30 PM.

Waller, is the composer and lyricist behind the new musical A SUPERHERO, which will be staged for the first time at his alma mater, McDonogh School, from April 12th through 14th. The show is a full-scale production featuring more than 30 students from all three divisions at McDonogh. It will also feature a 20-piece orchestra - 11 from the school's music department and 9 professional musicians. The new musical is about the extraordinary power of love, family, and the faith we have in things we can't prove to be real.
