THE LAGUNA PLAYHOUSE announces adjustments to its 2013- 2014 season of shows. SIX DANCE LESSONS IN SIX WEEKS starring Leslie Caron will be moved from its originally scheduled November opening to the Spring, 2014 slot to accommodate Ms. Caron's schedule. Replacing SIX DANCE LESSONS IN SIX WEEKS this November, the Playhouse will present the heartwarming musical, A CHRISTMAS MEMORY. Based on the beloved short story by Truman Capote, A CHRISTMAS MEMORY features a cast of seven in a tender portrait of a rare friendship across generations, during a time when life was much simpler. With a musical score that will bring love and light to your hearts, this show is sure to put our audiences in the holiday spirit. Additionally, THE YEAR OF MAGICAL THINKING (originally announced for April/May) will be included in the 2014-2015 season.

The Pasadena Playhouse announces 'Fostering the Memories,' an open house event for the community and general public on Sunday, October 20, 2013, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. The free event, hosted by Playhouse Board Member Darrell Brooke in partnership with the Friends, Alumni & Associates and the Ambassadors, invites everyone and anyone interested in learning about The Playhouse's history, its current programming, volunteer opportunities and general information. Red, White and Bluezz will be providing free food and beverages, and entertainment. Concessions to purchase will also be available.

Producers Whoopi Goldberg, Stage Entertainment and Troika Entertainment have announced that the North American Tour of the five-time Tony Award nominated musical SISTER ACT will begin its second year of performances. The tour opened on October 2, 2012 at Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theatre and is still rocking the rafters across the country. SISTER ACT opened to stellar reviews and continues to receive them across the country.

Laurence Fox, Jack Huston, Christian McKay, Miranda Raison, Imogen Stubbs and MyAnna Buring will star in Strangers on a Train by Craig Warner, which will be presented at the Gielgud Theatre in London's West End by Barbara Broccoli, Colleen Camp, Michael G Wilson, Lucky VIII/Lou Spisto, Frederick Zollo and Michael Rose Limited for Strangers (UK) Limited. The production, directed by Robert Allan Ackerman, will preview from Saturday 2 November. This gripping thriller is based on Patricia Highsmith's acclaimed novel, which was the inspiration for Alfred Hitchcock's legendary movie.
5th Avenue Theatre's SECONDHAND LIONS Begins Tonight in Seattle

An all-star cast will take the stage at The 5th Avenue Theatre this fall in the celebrated organization's 15th new musical, Secondhand Lions. Based on the beloved film starring Michael Caine and Robert Duvall, Secondhand Lions springs to musical life in Seattle with a superbly talented cast of Broadway stars and Seattle musical theater actors. Lead by Tony Award nominees Gregg Edelman and Mark Jacoby, this adventure story also features Jason Danieley, Jenny Powers, Kevin Earley, Jared Michael Brown, Kendra Kassebaum, Sophia Anne Caruso, and Justin Huertas. Johnny Rabe, star of Broadway's A Christmas Story, takes center stage as Walter.

The Pasadena Playhouse announced yesterday that its 2012 - 2013 "Better Than Ever" season, which concluded with the closing performance of Sleepless in Seattle - The Musical, exceeded sales and attendance goals for the theatre's fiscal year. The Playhouse's season was highlighted by the world premieres of the comedy Under My Skin and Sleepless in Seattle - The Musical; the smash-hit One Night With Janis Joplin, which was developed at The Playhouse, recently announced its Broadway engagement for this fall; and the launch of a long-term partnership with Lythgoe Family Productions for an annual holiday Panto at The Playhouse. The fiscal year closed with new summer programming that included an inaugural Cirque-A-Palooza festival, a one-week run of Letters From Zora starring Vanessa Bell Calloway and a sold out nine show limited engagement of Val Kilmer in Citizen Twain.

The Pasadena Playhouse presents Val Kilmer in CITIZEN TWAIN for a five-show limited engagement. Val Kilmer, famous for his portrayals of iconic characters such as Jim Morrison (The Doors), Doc Holliday (Tombstone) and Batman (Batman Forever), inhabits the spirit of yet another legendary figure: Mark Twain. Kilmer continues to develop CITIZEN TWAIN, a solo show about the man considered to be the world's greatest storyteller, with this five performance extension at The Playhouse, August 21 - 24, 2013.
