As confirmed as of today, the 2011 Drama Desk Awards will feature a star-stuuded line-up of presenters including: Katie Holmes, Daniel Radcliffe, Tyne Daly, Liev Schreiber, Montego Glover, Colin Quinn, Jennifer Damiano and Reeve Carney (Spiderman), Jonathan Groff, Cheyenne Jackson, Larry Kramer, Marsha Mason, Annabella Sciorra, Christian Siriano, Holland Taylor and Tom Wopat.

Philadelphia Theatre Company will conclude its 35th Anniversary season celebration with a Gala honoring long-time board member Kenneth S. The Manhattan Theatre Club's new Broadway production of MASTER CLASS by Terrence McNally, directed by Stephen Wadsworth, begins rehearsals today. MASTER CLASS will begin previews on Tuesday, June 14 and open Thursday, July 7 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Interim Executive Director Joey Parnes) announced today that it will host a memorial to honor the memory of famed costume designer and friend Theoni V. Aldredge. The legendary designer, who passed away on January 21, 2011, will be remembered in a memorial on Monday, May 9 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at The Public Theater. The memorial will be in the Newman Theater and is free and open to the general public

First reported by Deadline.com was the sad news that legendary director and writer Arthur Laurents has passed away at 93 years old, dying in his sleep. The Los Angeles Times has added a short statement from Jonathan Lomma, Laurents' agent at William Morris Agency who confirmed his death Thursday, saying that 'he died earlier this evening, peacefully in his sleep, at his home in New York City, after a short illness.' It was announced today that Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director of Manhattan Theatre Club, will be honored with the Lucille Lortel Award for Lifetime Achievement. The award recognizes Meadow's extraordinary accomplishments and dedication to producing and directing new work Off-Broadway for over three decades. The Lucille Lortel Award ceremony will be held Sunday, May 1 at the Jack. H Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (566 Laguardia Place).
