The Houston debut of Jessica Lang Dance will kick off Society for the Performing Arts' 2013-2014 season on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at 8 p.m. in Wortham Center's Cullen Theater.

Symphony Space will open its 2013-14 Music season with 'Kurt Weill on Broadway,' Monday, October 7 (8 pm) at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre. The show takes place on the 70th anniversary of the Broadway opening of Weill's One Touch of Venus. Ted Chapin hosts a stellar cast featuring Melissa Errico, Brent Barrett, Judy Blazer, and Ron Raines, plus winners of the international Lotte Lenya Competition.

Ballet San Jose's new Artistic Director, José Manuel Carreño, has announced details of the 2013-2014 season including Company premieres by choreographers including Twyla Tharp, Paul Taylor, Ohad Naharin, Vicente Nebrada, Jorge Amarante, Igal Perry and Dwight Rhoden; two story ballets including Karen Gabay's The Nutcracker and Roland Petit's Carmen; plus the return of acclaimed and popular ballets by Jorma Elo and George Balanchine. American Repertory Ballet will kick off its 2013-14 season at Rider University's Bart Luedeke Center Theater in Lawrenceville, NJ on September 20 and 21 at 7:30pm. ARB's Fall Kick-Off production features Artistic Director Douglas Martin's critically acclaimed Rite of Spring, Patrick Corbin's lyrical Caress, ARB Resident Choreographer Mary Barton's vibrant Five Men and a Concerto, and an excerpt from Martin's Romeo and Juliet. The program presents repertory appealing to a wide variety of tastes, showcasing the diverse range of American Repertory Ballet's dancers and choreographers.

The Chicago Dancing Festival has announced the programming schedule for its seventh season. Co-produced by internationally renowned choreographer and native Chicagoan Lar Lubovitch and highly esteemed Chicago dancer Jay Franke, this 'Free-to-All' Festival is set to take place today, August 20 - 24, featuring top ballet, modern, ethnic and rhythmic dance companies from Chicago and across the country.

Curtains up! AIR TWYLA propels Pacific Northwest Ballet into its new season with a trio of works by its first artist-in-residence, renowned choreographer Twyla Tharp. The program includes the world premiere of Waiting at the Station with a commissioned score by New Orleans music legend Allen Toussaint. Sharing the program with Waiting at the Station are the Scottish-inspired Brief Fling (a PNB premiere) and Tharp's homage to Ol' Blue Eyes and ballroom dance, the unforgettable Nine Sinatra Songs. Clever, charming and a top act in Las Vegas, comedienne Rita Rudner is coming to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, August 23, at 8 p.m.

Oregon Ballet Theatre (OBT) is pleased to announce its upcoming 2013-2014 performance season, which includes several noteworthy items.

The world premiere of Wendy Whelan's Restless Creature, an evening-length suite of dynamic contemporary duets, will take place at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in the historic Ted Shawn Theatre, August 14-18. Each with his own unique style and artistry, the four contemporary choreographers of Restless Creature: Kyle Abraham, Joshua Beamish, Brian Brooks, and Alejandro Cerrudo, will perform alongside 'America's greatest contemporary ballerina' (Claudia La Rocco, The New York Times) only at Jacob's Pillow this summer.

Las Vegas's most charming comedienne, the incomparable Rita Rudner will headline at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, August 23, at 8 p.m. She has earned Las Vegas Review-Journal's 'Best Comedian in Las Vegas' title for the last eight years playing to sold-out audiences night after night. With a list of credentials that includes HBO, PBS and Carnegie Hall in addition to her sold-out shows in Las Vegas, Rita is a must-see. Special guest is comedienne Christine O'Leary who has become a regular at the Playhouse both as a solo act and collaborating with other celebrities. Bissell House (Main St., Ridgefield) is offering Rudner fans a free glass of house wine or draft beer when tickets/stubs are presented the night of this event. Because the folks at Clark Construction Company believe in the power of laughter, this show is part of the Clark Construction Comedy Series and is partially underwritten by Adam Broderick Salon & Spa of Ridgefield and Southbury.

The Laguna Playhouse Executive and Artistic Directors, Karen Wood and Ann E. Wareham will present their second special bonus offering of their 2013 season, the world premiere production of a new musical play, ROCKSTAR, featuring the music of Franz Liszt and others, written and performed by Hershey Felder and directed by Trevor Hay.

American Repertory Ballet and Princeton Ballet School will be participating in events throughout Central Jersey this fall, including in the towns of Cranbury, New Brunswick, and Hamilton. On September 7, ARB will participate in Cranbury Day on Main Street, and advanced Princeton Ballet School students will perform in the School's beautiful Cranbury studio. The following weekend, ARB will be at Hamilton's Septemberfest on September 15. Later in the month, on September 28 at 4:00pm, the company will be performing at New Brunswick High School as part of the New Brunswick Cultural Center's Hub City Sounds arts festival.

American Repertory Ballet will be kicking off its monthly On Pointe Enrichment Series with their annual 'Meet the Company' event on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 12:00pm, noon, at Princeton Ballet School - 301 North Harrison Street (above McCaffrey's supermarket in the Princeton Shopping Center). On Pointe events are usually held at 5:15pm. This is a special lunch-hour On Pointe in light of the beginning of Yom Kippur the evening of September 13, 2013.

American Ballet Theatre will make a historic trip to Australia for performances exclusively at the Queensland Performing Arts Center (QPAC) in Brisbane, August 28 through September 7, 2014. ABT's first ever engagement on the continent will include two programs of ballets including Swan Lake and mixed repertory, it was announced today in Brisbane by QPAC Chief Executive John Kotzas. ABT's tour, exclusively in Brisbane, is part of QPAC's International Series, a joint initiative with Tourism & Events Queensland.

Casting for American Ballet Theatre's 2013 Fall Season at the David H. Koch Theater was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie.

Olney Theatre Center will produce the groundbreaking Tony Award-winning musical A Chorus Line today, August 1 through September 1 on the Mainstage. With 24 performers and 8 musicians in the pit, A Chorus Line is the largest musical in Olney Theatre Center history.
