According to published reports, Polish playwright Slawomir Mrozek died on August 15, 2013. He was 83. Mrozek started out as a journalist and cartoonist and eventually went on to become one of Poland's leading playwrights and political critics.

Simon Evans directs the world premiere of this exciting new play by Maureen Chadwick, creator and writer of award-winning dramas Bad Girls, Footballers' Wives and Waterloo Road. The Speed Twins, which runs for five weeks at Riverside Studios 3 from tonight 29 August - Saturday 28 September, is an exhilarating, intriguing and moving story about a long lost love between two women. Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announced today casting for Cyrano de Bergerac, launching the Theater's 2013-2014 Season. CST's new production of Edmond Rostand's timeless classic, adapted and translated by Anthony Burgess, marks the return to CST of director Penny Metropulos and film and stage actor Harry Groener, the duo behind the Theater's award-winning 2011 production of The Madness of George III. Featuring some of the most romantic and witty verse written for the stage, Cyrano de Bergerac is a poignant and entertaining homage to poetry, love and panache which will run in CST's Courtyard Theater September 24 through November 10, 2013.

Theatre Royal Bath has announced Richard Wilson will star in the final production of its Summer Season, A Little Hotel On The Side directed by Lindsay Posner and Cal McCrystal. Adapted by John Mortimer, this hilarious comedy by Georges Feydeau and Maurice Desvallieres will appear at Theatre Royal Bath from tonight 15th August - Saturday 31st August.

David Gilmore, Artistic Director of the St. James Theatre, today announces the next production at the St. James Theatre. Scenes from a Marriage, written by Ingmar Bergman, adapted by Joanna Murray-Smith and directed by Trevor Nunn will run from 11 September to 09 November. The press night will take place on 16 September 2013, almost exactly one year since the theatre's first press night, for Bully Boy by Sandi Toksvig, which took place on 18 September 2012.

Producers of the Tony Award winning MATILDA THE MUSICAL announced today that Craig Bierko and Jill Paice will join the company as Miss Trunchbull and Miss Honey, respectively, on September 3. Bertie Carvel and Lauren Ward will play their final performances in those roles on September 1.
