Season 18 at New Village Arts is a celebration of the diversity of our community.  With six mainstage productions, NVA has created an eclectic season of adventurous artistic experiences. For the third season in a row, NVA has parity between its male and female playwrights and has continued its commitment to open casting. We believe that representation on stage is incredibly important, and strive to make our casts as diverse as possible.  Teatro Pueblo Nuevo will continue for its second year, and the season includes two San Diego Premieres, one West Coast Premiere, and one World Premiere adaptation. There is something for everyone in this season, and we can't wait to share it with you!

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts hosts more than 120 outstanding theater students from colleges and universities across the nation as part of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), which runs April 9-14, 2018 in multiple locations throughout the Center. 'The Women of Padilla,' an extraordinary show, is now being performed at Two River ater (TRT) through April 30th. Written Tony Meneses with direction by Ken Rus Schmoll, the show features an all-female cast that brings the play's characters to life on the Red Bank Stage.

 Today, Madeleine Oldham, director of The Ground Floor: Berkeley Rep's Center for the Creation and Development of New Work, announced the 18 projects accepted into its sixth annual Summer Residency Lab. The projects were chosen from almost 600 submitted applications, the most the program has ever received.

Ken Rus Schmoll directs an all-Asian American cast that includes Daniel K. Isaac (of TV's 'Billions'), Mia Katigbak, Glenn Kubota, Bex Kwan and Virginia Wing. Sundance Institute today announced the seven artists selected for the 2016 Playwrights & Composers Retreat at Ucross Foundation in Wyoming, February 2-20. The retreat is one of the 25 residency Labs the Institute hosts each year for independent artists in theatre, film, new media and episodic content, and is made possible through the generosity of the Ucross Foundation. Over 90 Sundance artists have benefitted from time at Ucross Foundation including Charlayne Woodard, Jeanine Tesori, Doug Wright, Annie Baker, Adam Guettel, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, Tanya Saracho.
