Casting has been announced for Moonfleet, a new British musical based on the novel by J Meade Falkner, to be staged by Salisbury Playhouse (19 April - 5 May 2018; Press Night Tuesday 24 April).

Meet Edward Bloom, an ordinary man, and an extraordinary father. He has always told his son tall tales filled with beauty, love and imagination but when his son confronts him about what is make believe, they both discover that the truth is more wonderful than fiction.

Kelsey Grammer stars in Big Fish THE MUSICAL as Edward Bloom, alongside Clare Burt and more. Based on the novel Big Fish by Daniel Wallace and the Columbia Pictures film screenplay by John August, this new production will be the London premiere of the musical and also marks Kelsey's first time on the London stage.

Based on Daniel Wallace's novel and Tim Burton's 2003 film adaptation, this musical is quite the oddity. Screenwriter John August has tinkered with the book since its brief Broadway run in 2013, but it remains an unfathomable mixture of magical and mawkish, whimsy and desolation.

Britain's most beloved diarist (give or take a Bridget Jones) comes to London in chamber musical form in a new adaptation created with the late Sue Townsend's blessing. Jake Brunger and Pippa Cleary's version, tweaked since its premiere run in Leicester in 2015, should certainly prove popular with school holiday audiences, though a broader approach means parents may miss Townsend's subtly genius brand of humour. 

The lineup for South Coast Repertory's 20th Pacific Playwrights Festival (PPF), April 21-23, includes works from playwrights Amy Freed, Lucas Hnath, Donald Margulies and Lauren Yee. Following the critically acclaimed, sell out production of Titanic, Thom Sutherland, Artistic Director of the Charing Cross Theatre directs a new production of Ragtime, playing for a strictly limited season. 

It was the music of something beginning... Ragtime, the landmark Broadway musical, will play the Charing Cross Theatre (The Arches, Villiers Street), in London's West End, beginning October 8th and run through December 10th in a strictly limited engagement. Opening night is set for October 17th.

1920s London. Home from the War, flat-broke and unemployed, our twenty-something heroes Tommy and Tuppence embark on a daring business scheme: 'The Young Adventurers Limited'… willing to go anywhere, willing to do anything. Citizens Theatre Artistic Director Dominic Hill directs a new co-production between Bristol Old Vic, Citizens Theatre, Glasgow and Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse of Richard Brinsley Sheridan's The Rivals this autumn. The elegant yet earthy 18th-century comedy of manners features some of the most enduring and eccentric comic characters in British theatre and plays at the Citizens Theatre from 2 to 19 November.

Tessa Peake-Jones, Paul Kemp and Emily Burnett will appear in the world premiere of Tabitha Mortiboy's Beacons at Park Theatre (PARK90), running from 22 March - 16 April. Directed by Philip Wilson, this magical new play tells of love, loss and midnight ice cream sundaes under the starlit skies of the South Downs.  Beacons is presented by Attic Theatre Company. Press Night is Thursday 24 March, 7pm.

The eagerly awaited European premiere of the Broadway musical GREY GARDENS, based on an iconic 1975 documentary, tells the spectacular real life rise and fall of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis's aunt and cousin, Edith and Edie Bouvier Beale. The production began a 6-week season in The Large at Southwark Playhouse from on 2 January and officially opens tonight 7 January 2016.
