Audiences are following the yellow brick road over the rainbow to see Danielle Hope, winner of BBC TV's Over the Rainbow, play Dorothy at The London Palladium, the capital's home of the family musical. This Saturday, 16th July, Hope will appear on BBC1?s Tonight's the Night at 7.10pm, where she'll help one young fan realise her ambition of singing ‘Over The Rainbow', as they perform together on the show.

For their third production in the 40th Anniversary Season, Cortland Repertory Theatre offers the family musical "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", with music by Andrew Lloyd Weber and lyrics by Tim Rice.

The 5th Avenue Theatre just opened the premiere of Aladdin, a new stage musical adapted from Disney's 1992 animated feature film. Stratford Shakespeare Festival's new production of Jesus Christ Superstar opened at The Avon Theatre on Friday June 3rd to outstanding reviews with audiences and critics alike raving about this magnificent new take on the now four decade old show. Directed by Des McAnuff, the show tells the story of the last week of Christ's life. Since the show's opened, there has been a flood of theatre insiders travelling to Toronto to see the show to discuss moving it to Broadway. The Broadway at Birdland concert series is proud to present the American concert debut of Dutch performer Willemijn Verkaik, best known to theater lovers for originating the role of Elphaba in the German production of Wicked. This event will take place at Birdland on Monday, August 22 at 7pm. Verkaik, backed by a seven piece rhythm and string section, will sing the work of today's most celebrated composers and will be joined by two very special guest composers, Jason Robert Brown (Parade; Last Five Years) and Scott Alan (Dreaming Wide Awake; Home), who will accompany the singer on work from their songbooks. Other special guests will be announced in the coming weeks. This concert will mark Verkaik's American concert debut.
