Stage 773 Celebrates New Theater Facade And Renovations

Stage 773 Artistic Director Brian Posen is proud to announce plans to showcase the newly renovated Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave., at a grand opening celebration, showcasing the 4 newly renovated theaters, a new façade, lobby area and much more, Sunday, October 16 at 7 p.m.

Bailiwick Chicago's upcoming production of the award-winning off-Broadway hit 'Violet,' a powerful and heartwarming story of a vulnerable young woman's challenges, loves and emotional journey, will now be staged September 16 - October 16 at the Mercury Theater, 3745 North Southport Avenue. With a score by Jeanine Tesori ('Caroline or Change' 'Thoroughly Modern Millie') and book and lyrics by Brian Crawley, 'Violet' is directed by Bailiwick Artistic Advisor Elizabeth Margolius. The press night is Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m.

On Monday, June 25, 2011, New York Theatre Barn will present its monthly platform, now in its 4th year, for emerging musical theatre writers at The Duplex (the series usually plays the Daryl Roth D-Lounge, by will play The Duplex for the summer). Featured writers for the July 25th installment include Mark Sutton Smith (Stand By The River), and Daniel Green. Executive Producers for NYTB in the D-Lounge are Laura Brandel and Karen Marshall.
