The Theatre School at DePaul University is pleased to present The Misanthrope by Moliere, translated by Richard Wilbur, and directed by Brian Balcom (MFA Directing, Class of 2016) on the Fullerton Stage at The Theatre School at DePaul University. The production opens on Friday, April 15, and runs through Sunday, April 24, 2016. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Previews are on April 13 and 14 at 7:30 PM.

Starting rehearsals at The 5th Avenue Theatre this week is the critically-acclaimed Broadway musical, A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN.

Due to critical acclaim and popular demand, Playwrights Horizons has announced an extension of their New York premiere production of FAMILIAR, a new play by Obie Award-winner Danai Gurira (Eclipsed now on Broadway, In the Continuum, The Convert, Michonne on AMC's 'The Walking Dead'). Directed by Rebecca Taichman (Stage Kiss, Milk Like Sugar at PH; The Oldest Boy; Marie Antoinette; Luck of the Irish; Orlando), the play is the fourth production of the theater company's 2015/2016 Season.

Josette Simon joins the previously announced Mel Giedroyc to lead the cast of the UK premiere of JC Lee's play LUCE, which will run at London's Southwark Playhouse from tonight 9 March to 2 April 2016, with a Press Night on Friday 11 March 2016.

Pear Theatre continues its 2015/2016 season with THE BEARD OF AVON, a brilliant farcical treatment of the Oxfordian theory regarding authorship of Shakespeare's plays.

Vineyard Theatre, in association with La Jolla Playhouse and Yale Repertory Theatre, will present the New York premiere of INDECENT, a new play with music, written by Paula Vogel, created by Paula Vogel and Rebecca Taichman, and directed by Rebecca Taichman, at The Vineyard (108 East 15th Street) with previews beginning April 27 and opening night set for May 17. INDECENT features music composed by Lisa Gutkin (KLEZMATICS) and Aaron Halva (RED NOSES) and choreography by David Dorfman (GREEN VIOLIN).

FEINSTEIN'S/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents "THE WHOLE MEGILLAH" on March 24, 2016 at 9:30pm. The Old Globe welcomes Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein, making his musical directing debut with RAIN, a sumptuous world premiere musical by one of the most significant teams working in theatre today: composer and lyricist Michael John LaChiusa (The Wild Party, Giant) and book writer Sybille Pearson (Giant). Based on the short story by Somerset Maugham, RAIN will play March 24 - May 1, 2016 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Bright Star, the new musical from Grammy and Emmy Award winner Steve Martin and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Edie Brickell, will make its national television debut tonight on NBC'S "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."  The appearance will include interviews with Martin and Brickell, as well as a cast performance of the number "Sun's Gonna Shine," which Variety called, "A gorgeous anthem to optimism," led by Carmen Cusack.  (Ms. Cusack's starring role in Bright Star marks her Broadway debut.)  "The Tonight Show" airs on NBC at 11:35 p.m. (10:35 p.m. Central).
