Surfside Players Proudly Announces Our 2011-2012 Season And Call for Directors!

Brian Bedford, star and director of The Importance of Being Earnest will be interviewed live on Monday, February 21st at 1PM for "The Leonard Lopate Show".

The Ovation award-winning Fountain Theatre ("Best Season, 2010") celebrates the centennial of Tennessee Williams' birth (March 26, 1911) with the West Coast premiere of his final play, by special permission of the Williams Estate. Simon Levy, just announced as the recipient of the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle's 2010 Milton Katselas Award for special achievement in directing, directs A House Not Meant to Stand, opening February 26 at The Fountain Theatre. Low-priced previews begin February 19.

In a production brought to life by a talented quartet of seasoned players, Studio Tenn's The Glass Menagerie is the perfect tribute to the Southern Gothic playwright, mere weeks before the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth in Columbus, Mississippi, on March 26, 1911. Bringing Williams' archetypal and semi-autobiographical play to the stage with style and wit, Studio Tenn rings down the curtain on its inaugural season, scoring yet another artistic hit in the process, following its hugely successful productions of Hello, Dolly! and A Christmas Carol.

Westport Country Playhouse will host its second annual open house, "Playhouse Community Day," on Saturday, March 19, 1 to 5 p.m., offering a wide variety of family activities, backstage tours, displays and historic artifacts, insight on the upcoming 2011 season and ticket discounts throughout the afternoon. Admission is free and open to the public. Complimentary snacks and beverages will be available.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced three productions as part of the 2011-2012 theatrical season. Bob Fosse's Dancin', a masterful tribute to legendary choreographer Bob Fosse, directed by Graciela Daniele, will play Studio 54 in the Fall of 2011. Sons of the Prophet by Stephen Karam, directed by Peter DuBois, will also premiere this Fall, while Look Back in Anger by John Osborne, directed by Sam Gold, will hit the stage in the Winter of 2012.

Nashville's Studio Tenn theatre company concludes its inaugural season with Tennessee Williams' classic play The Glass Menagerie, running February 17-27 at Belmont University's Black Box Theatre. Williams' play is an award-winning portrayal of a disintegrating family during the depression and is the play that introduced him as one of the preeminent American playwrights of the 20th century.

On February 17th, the Newnan Community Theatre Company celebrates the 100th anniversary of Tennessee Williams' birth by presenting Williams' classic memory play The Glass Menagerie. This haunting family drama takes place at a particular time in American history, in 1938 right before World War II, just as the country was coming out of the Great Depression. While the setting controls their circumstances, the traits, conflicts and relationships of the characters are beyond time and place. They are people we will all recognize, and perhaps come away with a deeper understanding of the family members who have made us what we are - for better or worse.

Nan Gurley stars as Amanda Wingfield in Studio Tenn's upcoming production of Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie, presented at Belmont University's Black Box Theatre Feburary 17-27. The Glass Menagerie will conclude Studio Tenn's inaugural season, which has also included critically acclaimed productions of Hello, Dolly! and A Christmas Carol. Williams' enduring classic is an award-winning portrayal of a disintegrating family during the depression of the 1930's and introduced him as one of the preeminent American playwrights of the 20th century.

Off Broadway: FORBIDDEN BROADWAY STRIKES BACK, FORBIDDEN BROADWAY CLEANS UP ITS ACT (Drama Desk Nomination). Theatrically Bryan is most proud to have created the role of DARIUS in both the N.Y. and L.A (Drama Logue Award) productions as well as the film adaptation of Paul Rudnick's ground braking comedy JEFFREY.

In honor of Tennessee Williams' 100th birthday, Aurora Theatre Company continues its 19th season with the playwright's haunting drama THE ECCENTRICITIES OF A NIGHTINGALE. Aurora Theatre Company Artistic Director Tom Ross helms this evocative play featuring Beth Wilmurt, Charles Dean, Marcia Pizzo, and Thomas Gorrebeeck, along with Amy Crumpacker, Ryan Tasker, Leanne Borghesi, and Beth Deitchman.

Pulitzer Prize-Winning Playwright Tennessee Williams wrote over 70 one-act plays during his lifetime, but they were seldom produced.

Producer Jeffrey Richards announced that returning to Broadway in 2012 will be GORE VIDAL'S THE BEST MAN.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a reading of the thrilling game of cat and mouse, "Angel Street," upon which the classic film "Gaslight" is based, as part of Westport Country Playhouse's popular Script in Hand Series, on Monday, March 14, 7 p.m.

SunsetGun Productions, in conjunction with FRIGID New York, presents the world premiere of Scarlet Woman, a new play by NYC playwright Matthew Wells written expressly for SunsetGun Productions.
