In late March (I'm bringing you up to the minute news), TUTS Underground staged the first ever reading of SWEET POTATO QUEENS. The piece put me in the mind of stories and movies like the DIVINE SECRETS OF THE YA-YA SISTERHOOD or SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS. Basically, anything with sister in it. That's no insult. Sandra Bullock in YA-YA is as good as Sandra in GRAVITY. I dare you to say otherwise.

Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestra's begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven- o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. UP Comedy Club announces the addition of its new revue The Second City's Incomplete Guide to Everything to its winter lineup. The Second City's Incomplete Guide to Everything features some of the best material from The Second City's archives. Incomplete Guide to Everything is directed by Jeff Award winning director Ryan Bernier with musical direction by Vinne Pillarella. Incomplete Guide to Everything begins tonight, February 13, 2014 and runs at the UP Comedy Club, located at 230 W. North Ave 3rd Floor of Piper's Alley Chicago, IL 60614.

A glimpse behind the scenes at the current recording of the recent Shakespeare In The Park production of William Shakespeare's classic comedy LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST is now available to view, featuring cast-members Colin Donnell, Daniel Breaker and more.

Sh-K-Boom has just announced that a cast album for Love's Labour's Los, which played at the Delacorte Theatre as a part of the 2013 Shakespeare in the Park season, is currently in the works. The cast is in the studio today, January 27, to record the album. A release date has not yet been announced.

Penobscot Theatre Company has announced the cast and design team for its holiday production of Cinderella: A New Telling of an Old Tale (today, December 5 - December 29th). Tickets go on sale to the public, Tuesday, October 1st at noon.

UP Comedy Club is known for bringing the best stand-up comedy talent in the country to Chicago. This winter's line-up features many of the best known names in comedy today, including Jo Koy, Godfrey, Brian Posehn, Tom Papa and Greg Fitzsimmons. Each show includes a feature stand-up comic and a local emcee that hosts the evening. This winter, audiences can also enjoy The Second City's hilarious holiday revue, Miracle on Wells Street through December 31, 2013. Dinner will be available before and during the show.

NBC's GRIMM has cast Dee Wallace as Monroe's mother.

Cortland Repertory Theatre, one of New York State's longest running professional summer theatres, is announcing their 43rd annual season for the summer of 2014. Producing Artistic Director Kerby Thompson says that variety is the key element that he and the CRT Board of Directors Play Review Committee look for in putting an exciting season together. "The committee and I read a lot of different plays, and look for how best to piece an exciting season together." Other items such as the number of actors in the casts, expense of costumes and sets, and the estimated popularity of the shows also play a part. "Additionally, because we hire actors and technicians from around the country, we need to provide housing for them, so that also becomes a major factor in deciding if and when to do a show." Thompson says.

Take a break from holiday shopping, the same old parties, and the usual seasonal performances for an irreverent but loving romp through holiday traditions and iconic stories when Every Christmas Story Ever Told (and them some!) comes to the Capitol Center for the Arts' Spotlight Cafe on Thursday, December 5, at 7:30pm. From Rudolph and the Grinch to Scrooge and George Bailey, you'll laugh until you cry as you revisit all your favorites - with a few quirky twists.

This is another gem from Parham, following on from the great success of his previous very popular character, Schmoo, and this production, with some revision, has already had several outings through popular demand.

Winning upwards of 50 awards (including Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle, LA Weekly, Ovation, Garland, and BEST PRODUCTION two years in a row), the company was lauded as 'Best Theatre Company of 2012' by the LA Weekly.

The Oscar-winning film production companies Breakthru Films and Trademark Films present LOVING VINCENT by Dorota Kobiela. Every frame of this world's first feature-length painted animation is an oil painting on canvas, the same technique in which Vincent painted himself. Watch the trailer for the film below!

When Lynnea Benson stages 'Hamlet' with Frog and Peach Theatre Company, it'll be as a face-off between Scandinavian cultures. Bloodthirsty old Scandinavia confronts sleek, modern Scandinavia in a beautifully costumed, paranoid thriller that lets 'Hamlet' live up to its reputation as Shakespeare's most suspenseful play. The production will be tonight, October 17 to November 10 at West End Theater, 263 West 86th Street.

Falling will open tonight, October 12, 2013, with a reception to follow, and is set to play 8pm Fridays and Saturdays, 3pm Sundays through December 1, 2013 at 5041 Pico Blvd., LA, Calif.
