Cole Escola To Play Joe's Pub May 20 & 27

Cole Escola, acclaimed for his inspired musical performances in Joe's Pub's recurring smash Our Hit Parade and Casserole Live, the live performance component of his hit television series, Jeffery & Cole Casserole, returns to Joe's Pub following eagerly anticipated solo debut there in January. With Cole's broad showmanship and sweetheart charm, his act hearkens back to a time when the great ladies of stage and screen dazzled the crowds in smoky rooms all over town. An exciting bill of standards, showtunes, Motown and original material brought to life by Cole's decidedly fresh perspective and raw energy under the direction of Ben Rimalower (Leslie Kritzer is Patti LuPone at Les Mouches) and featuring a band led by Bistro Award-winner Ray Fellman. Cole Escola premieres at Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street) on FRIDAY, MAY 20th at 11:30 PM and FRIDAY, MAY 27th at 11:30 PM.

Rebecca Stenn Company - Fantasy, Lies, Hubris and Voyeurism (note update title 'Lies') - will perform a special New York City engagement May 19-22, 2011 at the West End Theatre, 263 West 86th Street (between Broadway & West End Avenue) 2nd floor (elevator available). The premieres will also feature live music as well as projections.

Symphony Space Features La Catrina Quartet, 5/12

La Catrina Quartet will make its only New York appearances of the season on Symphony Space's Sonidos Series. Momenta Quartet Announces May Line-Up

Currently in its seventh and most prolific season, with 18 concerts, 12 premieres and collaborations with 21 living composers, the Momenta Quartet continues a strong spring indicative of its innovative programming; stylistically diverse and international in scope. After concerts and residencies at Rutgers University, Haverford College and Cornell University in March with acclaimed Indonesian vocalist Nyak Ina Raseuki (aka Ubiet), Momenta launches into May with two world premieres by Chinese American composer Jason Kao Hwang and a Koussevitzky commission by leading Chinese Malaysian composer Kee Yong Chong; a western premiere by Balinese composer Wayan Gde Yudane and New Zealand composer Jack Body as well as delving into the world of Mexican microtonal maven Julián Carrillo. This spring marked the first time in its history that Momenta has brought international collaborators to the United States in the form of Ubiet and Chong.
