The Denver Center Theatre Company's (DCTC) world premiere production of SENSE & SENSIBILITY THE MUSICAL, with book and lyrics by Jeffrey Haddow and music by Neal Hampton, is being staged by director and choreographer Marcia Milgrom Dodge, whose recent Broadway revival of Ragtime received seven Tony Award nominations. SENSE & SENSIBILITY THE MUSICAL is currently running in its world premiere production through tonight, May 26, 2013. Starring in the pivotal sister roles are Stephanie Rothenberg as Elinor and Mary Michael Patterson as Marianne. Cast member Robert Petkoff photographed the entire cast and crew from the production, and was kind enough to allow BroadwayWorld to post them below!

Shalita Grant recently nabbed a Tony nomination for her Broadway debut in Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Grant's Off-Broadway credits include Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (LCT); The Philanderer (Pearl Theatre); Measure for Measure,The Winter's Tale, The Merchant of Venice (The Public Theater) and Roxy Font (FringeNYC). On film she has appeared in Empire Corner, Invisible and Rehearsing a Dream and guest starred on the CBS drama series The Good Wife.

Today we are kicking off BroadwayWorld's 2013 Tony Awards Clip Countdown with a special spotlight focused on the nominees for this year's big, big show as we look ahead to the 2013 Tony Awards - Broadway's biggest night - on Sunday, June 9, on CBS! The dynamic divas and devos of KINKY BOOTS - say 'Yeah!' - to the assortment of pre-adolescents populating MATILDA; the persuasive charms of the circus-themed revival of PIPPIN to the re-imagined Rodgers & Hammerstein world of CINDERELLA; to say nothing of the tremendous dramatic and comedic performances in plays like LUCKY GUY, THE ASSEMBLED PARTIES, VONYA AND SONYA AND MASCHA AND SPIKE and THE NANCE, to name but a few - the 2012-2013 Broadway season has been filled with fabulous performances and star-making turns. But, the primary question on everyone's lips along the Great White Way is who will take home top honors on Tony night?

Renowned musical theatre composer and lyricist Scott Alan will soon host a reading of HOME, written by Christy Hall and himself, on June 27, 2013 directed by Stafford Arima. 'For the first time in ten years of doing readings and workshops of HOME,' Alan writes, 'I am presenting the story I always set out to tell.'

Those who scored nominations include stage veteran Sutton Foster for ABC Family's BUNHEADS, and current VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE star, Sigourney Weaver, for her role as Secretary of State on USA's POLITICAL ANIMALS.

HBO leads the networks in nominations with 21, followed closely by FX which collected 19. Topping the list of nominated series are American Horror Story: Asylum (FX) and The Big Bang Theory (CBS) with six nominations each. Other series with multiple nominations include Parks and Recreation (NBC) and Top Of The Lake (Sundance) with five each and The Americans (FX), Breaking Bad (AMC), Game of Thrones (HBO), The Good Wife (CBS), Louie (FX), New Girl (FOX) andPolitical Animals (USA) with four each.

Second Stage Theatre's Spring Gala celebration honored The Peter Jay Sharp Foundation, which has been an ongoing supporter of New York City arts and Second Stage Theatre for many years, as well as playwright and filmmaker Paul Weitz, whose plays Privilege, Show People, Trust, and Lonely, I'm Nothave all premiered with the off-Broadway company. The evening will also celebrate the first ten years of Second Stage Uptown and its curator, Christopher Burney, which has become an incubator for many theatre artists in the past decade. The gala was held last night, May 20, 2013 at Best Buy Theatre, 1515 Broadway at 44th street.

Today we are talking to a five-time Tony Award-winning director/choreographer celebrated for her stupendous work on CRAZY FOR YOU, THE PRODUCERS, CONTACT, THE FROGS, THOU SHALT NOT, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS and many more - the master musicals director Susan Stroman. In discussing a vast array of topics, Stroman and I touch upon many of her past projects as well as look ahead to her current and future endeavors - that is: the forthcoming Broadway bow of the new musical BIG FISH, starring Norbert Leo Butz, as well as the world premiere of Ahrens & Flaherty's LITTLE DANCER next year. Most importantly, Stroman shines a light on her enduring artistic partnership with Mel Brooks in bringing to life the screen-to-stage musical adaptations of both THE PRODUCERS and YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, with BLAZING SADDLES on the way - their rich collaboration also being highlighted in this week's AMERICAN MASTERS tribute to Mel Brooks on PBS. Additionally, Stroman reflects on some of her lesser-known entities and casts a light on some of her foremost influences as well as candidly discusses her specialty work for a bevy of major stars - such as at SONDHEIM: A CELEBRATION AT CARNEGIE HALL in 1992 - and the finer points of working with Stephen Sondheim and Nathan Lane on Sondheim's most recent original Broadway musical, THE FROGS. Plus, Stroman shares first details of her upcoming collaboration with comedy master Woody Allen on the musical stage adaptation of Allen's Academy Award-winning BULLETS OVER BROADWAY and also offers the 411 on the upcoming Los Angeles and West End productions of Kander & Ebb's THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS - including the real-life role the musical has played in the pardoning of the originally accused nine just last month. Stroman also comments on her work with Hal Prince on the career revue PRINCE OF BROADWAY, opening in Japan in 2015, and also touches upon her ongoing desire to pursue a film adaptation of her multi-Tony Award-winning and genre-redefining 2000 Best Musical, CONTACT. VJ John Bantay will play his final night at Spash's Musical Mondays next Monday May 20th after 10 smash years. Bantay leaves to join Avenue Q as stage manager.
