Susan Stroman and Wendy Whelan are set to host the 2014 Clive Barnes Awards, which will be held on January 6 (3pm), at the Walter Reade Theatre. This years' nominees for theatre are Aaron Clifton Moten for his performance in The Flick, Jonny Orsini for his performance in The Nance, Phillipa Soo for her performance in Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, and Amber Iman for her performance in Soul Doctor. This year's nominees for dance are Talli Jackson (Bill T. Jones/ Arnie Zane Dance Company), Lloyd Mayor (Martha Graham Dance Company), Xiaochuan Xie (Martha Graham Dance Company), and Calvin Royal III(American Ballet THeatre.)

Susan Stroman Announces BIG FISH Cast Album in the Works!

The Broadway musical Big Fish will play its final performance on Sunday, December 29, 2013, but the show will have a life after its run at the Neil Simon Theatre. A 92Y representative confirmed that, Susan Stroman, who was a panelist at last night's 'From Book to Screen: Big Fish- A Conversation with the Creative Team' at the 92Y, revealed that an original cast album is on the way.
Additional details have not yet been announced.

Frankenstein Junior (titolo originale Young Frankenstein) e un musical del 2007, trasposizione teatrale dell'omonimo film di Mel Brooks con musiche e liriche dello stesso Brooks, libretto di Brooks e Thomas Meehan e regia originale di Susan Stroman. La versione italiana, curata dalla Compagnia della Rancia, si avvale della regia di Saverio Marconi e Marco Iacomelli e di un cast capitanato da Giampiero Ingrassia (Frederick Frankenstein), Mauro Simone (Igor), Valentina Gullace (Inga), Giulia Ottonello (Elizabeth) e Altea Russo (Frau Blucher). Five time Tony Award winning director and choreographer Susan Stroman will bring Bullets Over Broadway to the stage, beginning previews in March at the St. James Theatre. The show will feture work by an award winning design team of Broadway veterans including Tony Award winners Santo Loquasto (scenic design),William Ivey Long (costume design), Donald Holder (lighting design), Doug Besterman (orchestrations) and Glen Kelly (musical arrangements and supervision) and Peter Hylenski (sound design) and Andy Einhorn (musical direction).

Four NYCB Principal Dancers to Retire during 2014 Winter and Spring Seasons

New York City Ballet announced today that Principal Dancers Jenifer Ringer, Janie Taylor, Sebastien Marcovici, and Jonathan Stafford will retire from the Company during the 2014 Winter and Spring Seasons. All four of these Principal Dancers joined the Company during the 1990s as members of the corps de ballet, and have performed countless roles by numerous choreographers during careers spanning from 15 to 24 years with New York City Ballet.
