BWW Review: DESSERT, Southwark Playhouse
by Charlie Wilks - Jul 19, 2017

Glorious furniture decorates the stage, with 15th-century Venetian paintings hanging from the walls. A butler pours expensive wine and the four dinner guests congratulate him on cooking delicious food. Dessert is on its way, as is a night the five of them will never forget. Oliver Cotton's new play is a blend of unexpected twists and dark humour, directed by the seasoned Trevor Nunn, but drama is ultimately sacrificed for didactic discussion of capitalism.

BWW Reviews: THE LAST CONFESSION goes behind the walls of the Vatican to examine mystery, manipulation and a possible murder
by Jade Kops - Sep 25, 2014

Well recognised British actor David Suchet is joined by an international cast to bring Roger Crane's mystery, THE LAST CONFESSION, to Australian audiences with the right mix of emotion, passion and humour. Crane explores the sudden death of Pope John Paul I, 33 days after his election in this cleverly constructed play that draws on factual events and challenges beliefs.

BWW Reviews: Roger Crane's THE LAST CONFESSION Stops at Ahmanson on International Tour
by Don Grigware - Jun 13, 2014

In the history of the Roman Catholic Church, one papal election curiously stood apart. After Pope Paul's death in 1978, a compromise pope was elected, Albino Luciani, who named himself Pope John Paul I. His reign lasted a mere 33 days when, in apparent good health, he died suddenly, creating the suspicion of murder. The Last Confession by Roger Crane explores this time period in Roman Catholic history with a keen eye for details and propelling fine dramatic exchanges. Headed by resourceful actor David Suchet as Cardinal Giovanni Benelli, the cast, mostly from England, is a sturdy lot, and most likely only those repulsed by religion and/or politics will find the action less than intriguing, through July 6 only.

'2018: An Uncivil War' Now Available in Print
by Christina Mancuso - Feb 6, 2014

Phil Sanderson, the author of '2018: An Uncivil War,' proudly announces that the near-future action thriller is now available in print! The novel depicts the next American Civil War after the federal government repeals the 2nd Amendment, sparking riots and organized resistance throughout the nation. The story centers on three main characters. Stuart Milligan is a gun club owner who loses his business after the repeal; Terrance Crawley is a detective who is eventually tasked with collecting weapons from rebellious citizens; and Trent Dawg is a rockstar who uses his music to prompt Americans to fight for their gun rights. 'The story shows valid points on both sides of the gun control argument and encourages the reader to pick their own side,' Sanderson revealed. 'But the novel's ending was written in a manner I hope will shock the reader, while at the same time appealing to his or her strong sense of justice.' Published by AuthorHouse Publishing, Sanderson's novel, available in ebook format on Amazon and Barnes & Noble since Labor Day 2013, is now available in hardcover format (with dustjacket) for $31.99 and in softcover format for $23.95 in the same venues. 'I recently mourned the passing of two great masters of the action thriller: Vince Flynn and Tom Clancy,' Sanderson said. 'I would very much like an opportunity to appeal to the readers of these legendary authors, but I can never really get the opportunity without as much local support as the local media and libraries are willing to give.' To find out more about Phil Sanderson, visit him on his official website at http://www.philsanderson.net . Or check him out on Facebook, Twitter, WordPress, and Pinterest. Please give this new author your greatest possible support.
