Kevin Spacey will be honored by Museum of the Moving Image at its 28th annual Salute on April 9, 2014 in New York City. The news was announced today by Herbert S. Schlosser, Co-Chairman of the Museum's Board of Trustees, and Carl Goodman, the Museum's Executive Director.

The winners of the 56th ANNUAL Grammy Awards were announced last night, Sunday, Jan. 26th live at Los Angeles' STAPLES Center on the CBS Television Network.

The Museum of the Moving Image's popular series See It Big! will turn its focus to the movie musical with a fourteen-film celebration of the genre, from today, January 24 through February 28, 2014. Musicals are, by their very nature, filled with spectacle. They are heightened forms of storytelling, in which the narrative is amplified by song and dance, where characters express their innermost feelings in the most extravagant ways imaginable. It is a genre that celebrates excess and stylization, and the best examples of the form can only be truly enjoyed... big!

Two-time Tony Award-winning director and choreographer recreates many of his memorable routines and also now helms the West End premiere of hit Broadway musical DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDREALS and a generous glimpse of the cast and director in rehearsal is now available to view.

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, will present BRECHT FEST, a special series exploring the songs, poetry and stories of Bertolt Brecht, to be presented on Monday, February 3 and Monday, February 10 at CSC (136 East 13th Street). CSC is currently presenting Brecht's A MAN'S A MAN, directed by Brian Kulick and with a new score and new songs by Tony Award-winning composer Duncan Sheik, continuing the company's exploration of the works of Brecht, which began in 2011 with the sold-out production of Galileo and was followed by last season's The Caucasian Chalk Circle.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels stars Olivier, Tony and BAFTA award winning Robert Lindsay (Me And My Girl, Becket, Oliver!, My Family) and Rufus Hound (One Man Two Guv'nors, Celebrity Juice, and the winner of the recent Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special) as the conmen Lawrence Jameson and Freddy Benson competing for the riches and the heart of the young impressionable heiress, Christine Colgate played by Katherine Kingsley (A Midsummer Night's Dream, Singin' in the Rain).

Six Flags Over Texas, home of the Biggest Thrills in Texas, today announced more details about this year's expansion of its children's area. The all-new area, BUGS BUNNY Boomtown, will feature a host of delightful new adventures and enhancements, designed especially for the park's younger guests.

Today in 1957 Waiting for Godot opened at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre, where it ran for 6 performances. An absurdist play by Samuel Beckett, it revolves around two characters, Vladimir and Estragon, who wait endlessly and in vain for someone named Godot to arrive. Godot's absence, as well as numerous other aspects of the play, have led to many different interpretations since the play's premiere. Since its US premiere in 1956, several notable revivals have been produced, including the 1988 production featuring Robin Williams and Steve Martin, and the 2009 revival starring Nathan Lane and Bill Irwin.

When any of Steve Martin's plays such as "Picasso at the Lapin Agile", currently playing at Second Story Rep, is done well it can be a riotous evening of surreal fun. But when it misses the mark it's still funny but lacks that certain spark of genius that Martin is known for. And while SSR's production doesn't completely miss the mark it's more sparkly moments are overshadowed by its somewhat scattered and tepid ones.

The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for Shakespeare's spellbinding romanceThe Winter's Tale. Artistic Director Barry Edelstein makes his Old Globe directorial debut with the show, the first indoor Shakespeare production at the Globe in over a decade. The Winter's Tale will run Feb. 8 - March 16, 2014 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the OldGlobe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run Feb. 8 - Feb. 12. During rehearsals for The Underpants by Steve Martin, Hartford Stage administrators learned of plans for an 'accidental' wardrobe malfunction. Horrified, the administrators noted that Hartford Stage does not condone wardrobe malfunctions of any kind.

Today's edition of 'SPIDER-MAN Swings Off Broadway' showcases the show's highly anticipated and much-delayed opening night on the Great White Way. Spidey first 'officially' wove his web for an all-star audience on June 14, 2011 - over five months behind schedule - with an altered book, additions to the electric rock score, and a slew of new high-flying aerial feats, in hopes of puting an end to the criticism once and for all.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark, the Broadway spectacular that defied odds and expectations to conquer New York, will play its final performance at the Foxwoods Theatre on January 4, 2014. Since the announcement, there has been speculation as to whether the show, which ran for 3 years on Broadway, will make it to the infamous wall of flops at Joe Allen (326 West 46th Street).

Steve Martin has offered and apology and an explanation for what he has termed an 'unfortunate' tweet that he posted last Friday, December 20th.

Now according to the Las Vegas Sun, Wynn is making space for the musical at the Encore Theatre. Robin Leach writes: 'I can safely confirm Steve's "very serious interest" in moving the high-flying spectacular to open in his Encore Theater in a year, but nothing is apparently yet signed and sealed. He's prepared to financially back its revamped version, adding incredible, stunning Las Vegas elements to the extravaganza.'
