Bay Street Theater to Build Multi-Theater Complex, its First-Ever Permanent Home

The Bay Street Theater announced today that it is creating its first purpose-built home that will feature multiple theaters and spaces for the development of new work, dedicated education facilities, and outdoor performance and public spaces.

Cast Announced For Free Concert Reading Of The ROMEO & JULIET PROJECT At Bay Street Theater

Bay Street Theater and Guild Hall, in association with Jamie Cesa and Bel Chiasso Entertainment present a free concert staged reading of The Romeo & Juliet Project, a new musical, featuring the music of Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, with book by Bradley Bredeweg. This FREE community event will be held in Mashashimuet Park in Sag Harbor, NY on August 16 and 17 at 7 pm and is the latest installment of Bay Street's ongoing Under the Stars Community Outreach Program. The performance is directed by Scott Schwartz, Bay Street Theater's Artistic Director.

Bay Street Theater Announces Successful New Works Festival

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the success of Title Wave at Bay Street: The 5th Annual New Works Festival, which took place at Bay Street TheaterFriday, May 4 - Sunday, May 6.  The audience responded positively to all four readings and had the unique opportunity to hear new works read by actors based in both New York City and the Hamptons, including legendary actresses Estelle Parsons (Roseanne, Bonnie and Clyde) and Jane Alexander (All the President's Men, The Great White Hope). After each reading, the audience had the opportunity to participate in a talkback with the playwrights and directors, where they were able to ask questions and give feedback on the play.

ARTWEEK Kicks Off Friday; Over 250 Creative Events Beginning 4/28

Produced by the Boch Center, the award-winning innovative festival ArtWeek will officially kick off its largest festival ever this Friday, April 28, and run through Sunday, May 7. This season's festival offers more than 250 creative events in over 70 neighborhoods and towns across Eastern Massachusetts. In celebration of the region's rich cultural community, Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker has issued a proclamation declaring 'ArtWeek' to be observed from April 28 - May 7-a milestone for the creative festival.

Since he doesn't realize how far central London is from Stansted Airport, the taxi ride takes almost all of his money, and he finds himself sitting in a park, talking to the ducks.

The evening included a special performance of scenes from productions from the past 25 years directed by Will Pomerantz, as well as a silent auction, cocktail party, Live 'Fantasy Auction,' dinner and dancing. Artistic Director, Scott Schwartz also announced a new partnership with Jeffrey Seller, producer of Hamilton. Bay Street Theater will produce the new musical, The Man in the Ceiling by Jules Feiffer and Andrew Lippa, directed by Jeffrey Seller as part of the 2017 Mainstage Season.

Cinnabar Announces Departure of Executive Director Terence Keane

Today, with gratitude and sadness, the board of directors of Cinnabar Arts Corporation (CAC) announced the departure of Executive Director Terence Keane. Keane was hired part-time in early 2013 and asked to maximize ticket sales, increase fundraising, overhaul communications, and work with the board, staff, and volunteers to sustain Cinnabar's artistic excellence and its education programs for youth. Under his leadership, the theater has seen tremendous growth and is poised for a bright future. The board has appointed Stephen Hamilton, an experienced leader from among its members, to serve as interim executive director, manage day-to-day operations, and head the search for a full-time executive. Keane will remain with Cinnabar into the summer months to support a stable transition.
