Exciting news this afternoon - Stage Entertainment USA (Sister Act, Rocky) and Tom Kirdahy (It's Only A Play, The Visit) have announced they will produce the new musical ANASTASIA on Broadway during the 2016-17 season.

We continue our look at Austin theatre companies and producers with Andy Berkovsky and The City Theatre Company. In their ten year history, they have been recognized by the Austin Critics Table Awards, the B. Iden Payne Awards, the Central Texas Excellence in Theatre Awards, Central Texas Live Theatre, and twice have been named 'Best Theatre Company' by Austin American-Statesman's Austin 360. Most recently, Artistic Director Berkovsky was honored as 2015 Best Director by the Central Texas Excellence in Live Theatre Awards. The company is a nonprofit arts organization and is sponsored in part by the Austin Creative Alliance and the Austin Cultural Arts Division. We sat down with Andy to get a little more information about him and The City Theatre as they celebrate their 10th anniversary at the current location.

»Einer fur alle, alle fur einen!« - Wer kennt ihn nicht, den Schlachtruf der Musketiere Athos, Porthos und Aramis sowie ihres jungen Freundes d'Artagnan. Alexandre Dumas' Abenteuerroman DIE DREI MUSKETIERE diente nicht nur als Inspiration fur zahlreiche Verfilmungen, sondern auch fur das gleichnamige Musical des Komponisten George Stiles, das an der Oper Halle erstmals in Deutschland zu sehen sein wird. Es handelt sich damit um eine anderes Musical als das, was vor Jahren von Stage Entertainment in Berlin und Stuttgart zu sehen war. DIE DREI MUSKETIERE hatte vergangene Woche an der Oper Halle Premiere, weitere Vorstellungen laufen noch bis Mitte Juni. Wir haben hier einige Fotos von der Produktion mit Anna Thoren, Bjorn Christian Kuhn, Gerd Vogel, Joa Helgesson, Paul Stampehl und Adreas Goebel in den Hauptrollen.

PHANTOM fans, Andrew Lloyd Webber's sequel is nigh! As of last fall, the rumored 2017 North American production of LOVE NEVER DIES had 'no set tour.' But now the legendary composer has revealed in a feature for BuzzFeed that the PHANTOM OF THE OPERA follow-up will 'make its way to Washington, D.C. next year.'

It was announced today that James Charrington will join leading live entertainment marketing and advertising agency Dewynters as Chief Executive Officer on 11 April 2016. James will replace Bob King, outgoing CEO, who left on 1 March 2016 but will continue to work as a creative consultant to Dewynters until 31 August 2016. Anthony Pye-Jeary, co-founder of Dewynters, will stand down at the end of May 2016.

Nach dem Aus fur das Theater am Potsdamer Platz in Berlin hat Stage Entertainment jetzt die Plane fur einige andere Theater in Deutschland bekannt gegeben. DAS PHANTOM DER OPER lauft im Hebst in Oberhausen aus und wird von TARZAN ersetzt. Nachfolger von TARZAN in Stuttgart wird als Deutschlandpremiere und neues Musical im deutschen Katalog der Stage MARY POPPINS.

Jetzt ist es offiziell: Oberhausen wird der nachste Spielort fur Disneys Hit-Musical TARZAN! Die Premiere wird im Herbst im Stage Metronom Theater am CentrO Oberhausen stattfinden. Mit Disneys Musical TARZAN zeigt Stage Entertainment das aufwandigste je in Oberhausen aufgefuhrte Musical. Weltstar und Komponist Phil Collins freut sich, dass seine sensationelle Show in NRW gezeigt wird: „Das macht mich unglaublich stolz! Seit 1995 ist TARZAN zu einem Teil meines Lebens geworden. Es ist einfach unglaublich, dass das Musical in Deutschland ein derart großer Publikumsmagnet ist und 2016 endlich auch in die Metropole Ruhr kommt. Das ist alles, was man sich als Komponist ertraumt. Es ist, als wenn ein Kind heranwachst.' Der Vorverkauf fur den Disney Welterfolg startet am 28.01.2016.

Das Ende der Laufzeit von HINTERM HORIZONT war schon langer bekannt, der eigentliche Schock kam am heutigen Morgen bei einer Versammlung im Theater am Potsdamer Platz, bei der eine Bekanntgabe eines Nachfolgers fur das Lindenberg Musical in dem renommierten Haus erwartet wurde. Doch es kam anders, stattdessen das Aus. Stage Entertainment schließt seine Turen am Potsdamer Platz dauerhaft.
