According to an Equity casting notice, a developmental lab of the new musical version of ANASTASIA -- featuring book by Terrence McNally, music by Stephen Flaherty and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens -- will be held at Pearl Studios this August. Darko Tresnjak is set to direct the project from Stage Entertainment USA, along with musical director Tom Murray.

Niamh Perry will play the role of Sophie in the MAMMA MIA! International Tour when it plays its exclusive UK Summer Season at the Blackpool Opera House from 20 June to 14 September 2014. Niamh previously played the role in the West End in 2009, when the musical celebrated its 10th birthday.

Universal Music Enterprises, Stage Entertainment USA, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Sylvester Stallone announced today the forthcoming release of the new original Broadway cast recording of ROCKY, on May 27th, 2014 (UMe). ROCKY has an original score by the Tony® Award-winning team Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Once On This Island), who are the album's producers; additionally the score incorporates the iconic songs 'Eye Of The Tiger' and 'Gonna Fly Now.' The musical, which opened Thursday, March 13th at the historic Winter Garden Theatre, stars Andy Karl as Rocky, Margo Seibert as Adrian (making her Broadway debut), Terence Archie as Apollo Creed and features a superb ensemble.

The 80th Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony and Luncheon is being held this afternoon, May 16, at the Marriott Marquis Times Square, where winners will be announced for Distinguished Production of a Play, Distinguished Production of a Musical, Distinguished Revival of a Play, Distinguished Revival of a Musical, and the much coveted Distinguished Performance Award. At the 2014 Golden Mask National Theatre Awards held on 18 April in Moscow, The Little Mermaid received the Best Production Award in the category Best Operetta/ Musical Production. Manana Gogitidze, who played Ursula in The Little Mermaid , took top honours by winning the Best Actress Award. Stage Entertainment Russia produced Disney's musical The Little Mermaid at the Rossia Theatre in Moscow. The production premiered on 6 October 2012 and ran until 13 April 2014.

Según publica El País, la SGAE estaría dispuesta a vender sus dos teatros de la Gran Vía madrileña a la productora de musicales Stage Entertainment.
