National Alliance for Musical Theatre (Betsy King Militello, Executive Director) is thrilled to announce the cast for the SONGWRITERS SHOWCASE and the SONGWRITERS CABARET at the 27th ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS on Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16. Both events take place at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). In person registration for industry members will be available on Thursday at 9:30 AM at New World Stages (340 West 50 Street). The Lilly Awards Foundation (Marsha Norman, President) proudly presents The Lilly Awards Broadway Cabaret, an evening of musical showstoppers written by women and performed by Broadway's best to benefit The Lilly Awards Foundation whose mission is to promote gender parity at all levels of theatrical production, and develop and celebrate the work of women in the theater.

Today, the producers of Hedwig and the Angry Inch announced that the record-breaking musical has raised over $600,000 for Hetrick-Martin Institute during the production's record-breaking run at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street).

Producer Jeffrey Finn and Center Theatre Group announced today that Emmy winner Sean Hayes will play God in a limited six-week engagement of the new Broadway play AN ACT OF GOD at the CTG/Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, January 30 through March 13, 2016. The hit comedy arrives in Los Angeles after finishing a critically acclaimed Broadway run.

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director, Casey Reitz, Executive Director), in association with Stacey Mindich Productions, will present the New York premiere of the critically acclaimed new musical, DEAR EVAN HANSEN, featuring music and lyrics by the Tony and Emmy nominated composing team Benj Pasek & Justin Paul (Dogfight, A Christmas Story), book by Steven Levenson (Showtime's Masters of Sex), and direction by three-time Tony Award nominee Michael Greif (Rent, Next to Normal, Grey Gardens, If/Then).

The new Broadway comedy An Act of God, starring Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Jim Parsons, began performances on May 7 and will close today, August 2, 2015, at Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street).

I am happy to report that there's a lot to like in this drama with comedic undertones. If it is to have a future – whether in New York or elsewhere – there's a more than solid foundation from which to build.

The critically acclaimed play is the first Broadway production of the 2015-16 season to recoup its initial investment. The strictly limited engagement will play through Sunday, August 2 at Broadway's Studio 54 (254 West 54 Street).
