Sommore to Bring STANDING OVATION TOUR to Kentucky Center, 2/14

Sommore has been referred to as 'The Diva of Contemporary Comedy.' Born in Trenton, New Jersey, Sommore is becoming known as one of America's top comediennes. Sommore has appeared on Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam, Showtime at the Apollo, and BET's Live from L.A. She was also the first female host of BET's Comicview. During her Standing Ovation Tour, Sommore will be accompanied by four other comedy acts: Bill Bellamy, Tommy Davidson, Mark Curry and Tony Rock.

SPIDER-MAN to Open at Steve Wynn's Encore Theatre in Las Vegas?

Now according to the Las Vegas Sun, Wynn is making space for the musical at the Encore Theatre. Robin Leach writes: 'I can safely confirm Steve's "very serious interest" in moving the high-flying spectacular to open in his Encore Theater in a year, but nothing is apparently yet signed and sealed. He's prepared to financially back its revamped version, adding incredible, stunning Las Vegas elements to the extravaganza.'

Coolidge Corner Theatre & Huntington's STAGE & SCREEN to Continue with SECRETARY, 1/6

Stage & Screen, a collaboration between Coolidge Corner Theatre and Huntington Theatre Company that explores the depictions of shared themes in Huntington productions and acclaimed films continues its second season of collaboration on Monday, January 6 at 7pm with Secretary starring Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Spader. The screening will be followed by a conversation moderated by Boston Globe columnist Meredith Goldstein with Venus in Fur director Daniel Goldstein and actors Andrea Syglowski and Chris Kipiniak.

Steve Wynn to Host SPIDER-MAN in Las Vegas?

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark, the Broadway spectacular that defied odds and expectations to conquer New York, is moving to Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world. After more than three historic years on Broadway, the show play its final performance at the Foxwoods Theatre on January 4, 2014. Now according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Casino executive Steve Wynn is currently in meetings to host the production.

Comix At Foxwoods Welcomes Guy Code Star Dean Edwards Tonight

Edwards will take the stage four times, with performances at 8 p.m. nightly before a 10:30 p.m. 'nasty'-themed show on Saturday to round out the weekend in style.

The Marsh announces the return of Don Reed's autobiographical journey CAN YOU DIG IT? The '60s - Back Down East 14th, now coming back in the new year, January 4 through February 2, 2014 following wildly successful extended runs at The Marsh San Francisco and The Marsh Berkeley. Reed, an Oakland-born comedian, is currently the opening act/warm-up comedian for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The third installment in Reed's hilarious coming-of-age trilogy, CAN YOU DIG IT?, a view of the 1960s through the eyes of an awkward kid, will play Saturdays at 8:30pm and Sundays at 7pm in the The Marsh Berkeley Theater Stage, 2120 Allston Way, Berkeley. New Harriet Tubman Opera to Preview at Harlem's Schomburg Center, Today

AOP (American Opera Projects), and the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture will co-present an evening of scenes from Nkeiru Okoye's folk opera Harriet Tubman: When I Crossed That Line to Freedom that tells of how a young girl born in slavery, becomes Harriet Tubman, the legendary Underground Railroad conductor. The musical excerpts will be followed by an artist Q&A moderated by WQXR's Terrance McKnight.
