The Legendary Soul Man Sam Moore was honored with the Trailblazer Award at the annual Dream Ball Gala on Monday, February 19 at the Bomb Factory in the Deep Ellum area of Dallas. The gala is produced by Nancy Lieberman Charities, a 501(c)(3) organization that promotes healthy lifestyles and educational opportunities for young girls and boys, and is dedicated to expanding and ensuring that educational and sports opportunities exist for economically disadvantaged youth. Moore was presented with the Trailblazer Award by former Dallas Police Chief David Brown, and also performed a short set during the program, garnering rave reviews. Fellow honoree Billy Crystal was joined by Bo Derek, Tony Dorsett, Deion Sanders, Jose' Guzman, and Spud Webb, among other celebrities and local dignitaries, who were also in attendance. The Dream Ball Gala is one of several annual charity events organized by Nancy Lieberman Charities.

Legendary punk forebears DEATH have returned with another new track from the archives: this time for Mother Earth. “Give it Back” debuted last week via Consequence of Sound, where the band details their inspirations behind the call to arms. Originally written in 1979 by Bobby Hackney and re-recorded in 2017, the lyrics remain just as relevant, if not more so, to the environmental destruction we face today.

Carnegie Hall today announced that world-renowned jazz vocalist Dianne Reeves and critically-acclaimed trombonist Wycliffe Gordonwill join NYO Jazz as special guest artists for the ensemble's Carnegie Hall debut on July 27, 2018. Following its New York concert, NYO Jazz will embark on its first-ever tour to Europe, which includes performances in The Netherlands, Germany, and Great Britain, July 30 - August 10, 2018. Dianne Reeves will also be featured as a guest artist on NYO Jazz's European tour.

Petit Biscuit performed a very special version of “Sunset Lover” Friday night at France's Victoires de la Musique, the country's highest musical honor. The 18-year-old artist composed a new intro and outro to his massive hit, which he performed alongside a live orchestra. Petit Biscuit closes the performance with a solo piano interpolation of his song “You.”

New York City-based Atlantic Records recording duo Prelow have unveiled their new single “Good People Do Bad Things” – available today via all digital music retailers and streaming services. “Good People Do Bad Things” premiered yesterday via Ones To Watch with the publication praising the track for its “electro bounce, swaddled in soulful guitar riffs and wavy synths.”
