BROADWAY BARKS announces their 17th annual star-studded dog and cat adoption event to benefit New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. Founded by Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore, this event features celebrities from the hottest shows on Broadway.  The event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, will take place on Saturday, July 11 in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). The festivities begin at 3:00 p.m. where you meet all the adoptable dogs and cats; celebrity presentations of adoptable pets will take place between 5:00-6:30 p.m. This year's event will be co-hosted by Bernadette Peters and Andrew Rannells (The Book of Mormon, HBO's 'Girls'). The event is free and open to the public.

Below, Demeter the Cat (Gayle Holsman Seay) from Andrew Lloyd Webber's CATS poses in front of her former longtime home, the Winter Garden Theatre, as it gets ready for Lloyd Webber's newest show, SCHOOL OF ROCK, to open this fall. Seay played the role of Demeter in the final Broadway cast of CATS, which occupied the Winter Garden for a record-breaking 18 years. SCHOOL OF ROCK begins previews there November 9, with an oepning night slated for December 6, 2015.

Producer with Broadway in Branson, Justin Tranchita, announced that Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID, has been cancelled abruptly.  It was scheduled to run through the end of September at The Whitehouse Theatre.  

After the SCOTUS ruling on Friday legalizing gay marriage, many Broadway personalities took to varied platforms to share heartfelt messages about what the ruling means to them. Broadway has been celebrating Friday's Supreme Court ruling in favor of gay marriage ever since the official announcement, and where better to celebrate than a musical about a wedding?

Equality rang through the United States this morning with the Supreme Court's historic decision - and Broadway's IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU is joining in on the celebration.

When it comes to either their signature pop-classical mashups - or their politics for that matter - Well-Strung, The Singing String Quartet, wears its heart on its sleeve. For the first single from their upcoming new album titled 'POPssical', due out in early October, the group debuts their new music video 'Chelsea's Mom' today on YouTube. The video is Well-Strung's inventive take on the Fountains of Wayne hit 'Stacy's Mom', reimagined as a tribute to 2016 Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. The musical arrangement for strings is by Well-Strung with lyrics by Well-Strung, Jeffery Roberson & Jacques Lamarre. The video was filmed by Blake Drummond, edited by Randy Rainbow and was produced by Mark Cortale, Matt Farber and Well-Strung.

Episode 3 of Evatt Salinger's video blog for BroadwayWorld on the way to the National High School Musical Theatre Awards in New York. Salinger, of Durango High School, last month was named Outstanding Actor at the 2015 Bobby G Awards at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. Pitch Perfect actress Rebel Wilson recently attended a performance of Broadway's new musical, It Shoulda Been You. Backstage after the show Wilson greeted Lisa Howard and the cast and was reminded of her breakout film, Bridesmaids which also highlights the insanity that surrounds a wedding.
