Besides giving us ridiculously talented creators, entertainment, reason to live, etc., one great dynamic of our Broadway community is that we have a very active presence on Twitter. This is one of the few platforms on which performers, writers, and fans can all interact, usually throwing witty and often satirical one-liners at one another. It's one of the things that makes our community such a special place to be a part of.

2015 Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction Raises Record-Breaking Amount for BC/EFA

Broadway fans celebrated the 29th Annual Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction by bidding on and buying everything from tickets to a bevy of opening night performances to custom-made music mixes, from autographed musical phrases to once-in-a-lifetime theatrical experiences. The result: a record $756,655 was raised for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Deaf West Theatre's acclaimed production of Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik's SPRING AWAKENING, directed by Michael Arden and choreographed by Spencer Liff, opened just last night, September 27, at Broadway's Brooks AtkinsonTheatre (256 West 47th Street). The box office officially opens today for the World Premiere of School of Rock - The Musical at the Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway). Previews will begin on Monday, November 9, 2015, with an opening set for Sunday, December 6, 2015. Ghostlight Records released the Original Broadway Cast Recording of IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU - starring Tyne Daly, Harriet Harris, Sierra Boggess and Lisa Howard - in digital formats just last month and with the physical CD online and in stores on Friday, October 9, 2015. To celebrate the release, the company is set to reunite at the Upper East Side Barnes & Noble (150 East 86th Street) on Monday, October 12 (7PM) to perform and sign albums.
Ready to Rock- SCHOOL OF ROCK Finds Full Broadway Cast!

Andrew Lloyd Webber announced today the complete cast for School of Rock - The Musical, which will have its World Premiere on Broadway. Based on the smash hit 2003 film of the same title, School of Rock will feature music from the movie, as well as an original score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Glenn Slater, with a book by Julian Fellowes and direction by Laurence Connor (currently represented on Broadway by Les Miserables). Previews will begin on Monday, November 9, 2015 at the Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway), with an opening set for Sunday, December 6, 2015.
IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU Receives Actors' Equity's Diversity on Broadway Award

Actors' Equity Association today named It Shoulda Been You recipient of the 'Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway' Award for the 2014-15 theatrical season. Presented by Equity's National Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Committee, the award honors shows that exemplify and promote the union's founding principles of diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity for all who work in the theatre. Accepting the award on behalf of the It Shoulda Been You producers and creative team was producer Daryl Roth. Also in attendance were cast members Edward Hibbert and Jillian Louis, director David Hyde Pierce, composer Barbara Anselmi, co-lyricist and librettist Brian Hargrove and the production's stage management team: Bess Marie Glorioso, Katherine Shea and Melanie Morgan.
