BREAKING NEWS: The votes are in and the results are official for the fifth annual BroadwayWorld New York Cabaret Awards. More than 32,000 votes were cast this year for the excellent performers and shows in 16 categories. BroadwayWorld would like to extend congratulations to all of this year's winners and nominees.

The Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC) will honor the legendary Jan Wallman (1922-2015) in an afternoon of songs and stories.

Cabaret War Horse, Ricky Ritzel presents the January edition of the Award Winning RICKY RITZEL'S BROADWAY, Jan, 27 at 7pm at Don't Tell Mama.

Opera Australia's hugely popular Mazda Opera in the Bowl returns in 2016 with a stellar line up of Australia's finest opera singers and musical talent.

The 8th Annual Broadway Can! concert for City Harvest will be presented at Don't Tell Mama on Monday, November 14th at 7pm.  

The spirit of Christmas comes alive with Adelaide's all-time favourite, Christmas Proms at Her Majesty's Theatre from 15 - 17 December. Soak up the festive spirit and be transported back to the roaring 20s featuring two of Australia's much loved performers Emma Pask and Stephen Mahy in a Great Gatsby themed Christmas celebration. Stephen will channel the young and mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby, whilst Emma takes centre stage as his quixotic passion the beautiful former debutante Daisy Buchanan.

Directed by Neil Armfield, Wagner's Ring Cycle will play at Arts Centre Melbourne from 21 November to 16 December 2016. Melbourne Ring Cycle 2016 comprises four operas - Das Rheingold, Die Walkure, Siegfried and Gotterdammerung - totalling around 16 hours of music. As in 2013, the cycle of four operas will be performed three times.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents Where Words Once Were, a wordplay-filled world premiere commission from playwright Finegan Kruckemeyer, directed by Colin Hovde. The production, most appropriate for patrons age nine and up, is part of the Kennedy Center's Theater for Young Audiences 2016-2017 season, and will run November 5 through November 27, 2016.

Hold your hats and hallelujah. After an electrifying opening night, the Mabel Mercer Foundation's 27th Annual Cabaret Convention continued Wednesday night in a packed Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Hosted by Jeff Harnar and Andrea Marcovicci, the cabaret community gathered to salute the music of Stephen Sondheim, the EGOT-winning composer/lyricist whose oeuvre has been simultaneously catapulting and tripping up artists for decades. Despite 30 performances on the evening, you'd be hard-pressed to find a weak spot in Wednesday night's lineup, hosting what is arguably the best rotation of the four nights, featuring cabaret giants, up-and-comers, expert arrangers (plus the talents of Jered Egan on bass and Dan Gross on drums), and Sondheim role originators.
