Of Mice and Men, directed by Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro and starring Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner James Franco, BAFTA and Tony Award nominee Chris O'Dowd, Leighton Meester and Tony and Olivier Award winner Jim Norton, recouped its $3.8 million capitalization in just twelve weeks, making it the first of the spring to do so. The critically acclaimed production which opened on Wednesday, April 16 and is now in its final seven weeks on Broadway, shattered the house record at the Longacre Theatre and is the first Broadway production of the spring season to recoup its initial investment. The strictly limited engagement will play through Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Broadway's Longacre Theatre (220 West 48 Street).

Boise Contemporary Theater announces a $30,000 grant from The Shubert Foundation to support the operations of the Company. This is the largest gift ever granted to BCT by the Foundation.

Trustus Theatre has received three major awards from prominent national and statewide arts organizations: a national grant award from the Shubert Foundation, the South Carolina Theatre of Distinction Award from the South Carolina Theatre Association, and SCTA's Founders Award, which was presented to Trustus Artistic Director Dewey Scott-Wiley.

Atlantic Records will release the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the most nominated musical revival of the season, featuring Tony Award nominees Neil Patrick Harris and Lena Hall. The album is produced by HEDWIG composer Stephen Trask, Tony Award nominated sound designer and platinum-selling record producer Tim O'Heir, and the production's music director Justin Craig. The album is executive produced by Elie Landau and David Binder.

The Shubert Foundation awarded a record total of $22.5 million to 470 not-for-profit performing arts organizations across the United States. The 2014 grants mark the 32nd year in a row that the Foundation's giving has increased.

Manhattan Theatre Club, by special arrangement with Colin Callender, Robert Cole, Frederick Zollo and The Shubert Organization, has announced an extension for CASA VALENTINA, the hit world premiere play by four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein, directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello. Barnes & Noble will celebrate the new Ghostlight Records cast recording of The Bridges of Madison County, the new romantic musical currently running at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street), with a special in-st0re performance and CD signing on Friday, May 23 at 5:00 PM. The event will feature stars Kelli O'Hara and Steven Pasquale, in addition to other cast members. The composer/lyricist Jason Robert Brown will join them at the piano, with Justin Goldner and Gary Seiger on guitars and Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf on cello. Direct from their Broadway engagement, the internationally-acclaimed Beatles concert, RAIN: A Tribute to the Beatles, returns to the Academy of Music for seven shows only June 11 - 15 as part of the Broadway Philadelphia season presented by the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and the Shubert Organization. The Kleban Foundation just announced that the 24th annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre lyricist has been awarded to Nathan Tysen and the 24th annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre librettist has been awarded to Arthur Perlman.The 2014 prizes will be presented on Monday, June 23, 2014, in a private ceremony (by invitation only) hosted by ASCAP and BMI.

The Bridges of Madison County, the new Broadway musical by Tony Award® and Pulitzer Prize-winning team Jason Robert Brown and Marsha Norman, starring five-time Tony Award-nominee Kelli O'Hara, and star of screen & stage and 2014 Drama Desk nominee Steven Pasquale, will play its final performance on Sunday, May 18, 2014, having played 137 performances.

The first North American tour of the new stage adaptation of THE WIZARD OF OZ will follow the yellow brick road to Philadelphia for a limited engagement at the Academy of Music beginning June 3 - June 8 as part of the Broadway Philadelphia season, presented by The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and The Shubert Organization.The press opening is scheduled for Tuesday, June 3 at 7:30 p.m.

THE VELOCITY OF AUTUMN will play its final performance at Broadway's Booth Theatre on Sunday, May 4, 2014, having played 22 preview and 16 regular performances. Starring Academy Award winner Estelle Parsons and two-time Tony Award winner Stephen Spinella, THE VELOCITY OF AUTUMN began performances on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 and opened Monday, April 21, 2014, following a sold-out, critically acclaimed run at Washington DC's Arena Stage in the fall of 2013.
