2016 Jimmy Award Winners Announced!

The winners of the eighth annual NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL THEATRE AWARDS (NHSMTA)/JIMMY AWARDS were determined and announced last night, Monday, June 27, 2016, at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway. This one-of-a-kind-event was hosted by Tony Award-nominee Zachary Levi, currently starring on Broadway in Roundabout Theatre Company's She Loves Me at Studio 54.

Manny Kladitis, Jeffrey Chrzczon, Terry Schnuck, Kathleen K. Johnson, Jack Lane, Radio Mouse Entertainment, Schaffert/Hummel, Driemeyer-Sills Productions, Michael Guccione, David Gersten, Erach Screwvala, and The Shubert Organization, by special arrangement with Cranberry Productions, are proud to welcome Tony and Drama Desk Award Winner Cady Huffman to the cast of Shear Madness. Cady assumes the role of Mrs. Shubert, originated by Lynne Wintersteller. Also joining the cast is Jonathan Randell Silver, most recently seen in Please Continue at Ensemble Studio Theatre, who will assume the role of Mike Thomas. Adam Gerber, who created the role of Mike Thomas, has replaced Jeremy Kushnier in the role of Eddie Lawrence.
Breaking News: Tony-Winning THE HUMANS Will Move to the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre to Extend Run

Producer Scott Rudin announced today that, on the heels of winning four Tony Awards including Best Play, The Humans will move into Broadway's Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street) to extend its limited run. The Humans will play its first performance in its new home on Tuesday, August 9. It will play its final performance at the Helen Hayes Theatre on Sunday, July 24, and then take a two-week hiatus to allow for the move. As previously announced, the Hayes is set to undergo significant renovations beginning in August.
TRIP OF LOVE Becomes Longest Running Show to Play Stage 42

Trip of Love, the 1960's pop music spectacular,breaks the Stage 42 house record, becoming the theater's longest running tenant. At the matinee on Wednesday, June 22, Trip of Love will have played 305 performances (including 24 preview performances). This breaks standing house record held by the 2003 musical Fame on 42nd Street, which ran for a total of 304 performances (including 40 previews) at the same venue when it was previously called The Little Shubert Theater.
Fox Theatricals Brings Home Tony Award as a Producer of THE HUMANS

St. Louis' own Fox Theatricals received a 2016 Tony® Award as a producer of THE HUMANS, a new Broadway play by Stephan Karam. THE HUMANS received a total of four 2016 Tony nominations: Best Play, Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play (Reed Birney), Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play (Jayne Houdyshell) and Best Scenic Design of a Play (David Zinn). The show received additional nominations for Best Lighting Design of a Play (Justin Townsend) and Best Direction of a Play (Joe Mantello).

Milagro Theatre Receives $40,250 in Grants

Official: CATS Finds Its Grizabella- Leona Lewis Will Play the Glamour Cat on Broadway!

Producers The Shubert Organization and The Nederlander Organization announced today that chart-topping British pop star Leona Lewis will play the role of 'Grizabella,' the Glamour Cat, in the first-ever Broadway revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's record-breaking musical, CATS. One of the biggest hits in theatrical history, CATS will return to Broadway this summer at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 W 52nd Street) with preview performances beginning Thursday, July 14, 2016, and an official opening set for Sunday, July 31, 2016.
