In response to the devastating events in Haiti over the last 10 days, Pasadena Playhouse has announced a one-night-only benefit concert in support of three relief funds: Save the Children, UNICEF, and the Clinton Bush Haiti Relief Fund.

The LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards Ceremony for the 2008/2009 theatre season took place Monday, January 11, 2010 at 7:30pm at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, home of the Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities.

As previously announced, on October 12, nearly 150 theaters nationwide will stage readings of the epilogue piece to 2000's The Laramie Project, entitled The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later, in honor of the 11th anniversary of Matthew Shepard's death. On August 30th, Oscar Winning producers Craig Zadan And Neil Meron hosted a truly 'All-Star' cast reception for Lifetime Network's hit series DROP DEAD DIVA. Zadan and Meron are executive producers of the show which was recently picked up for a second season.

The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle has announced its nominations and special awards for excellence in Los Angeles and Orange County theatre for the year 2008. The 40th Annual Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards ceremony will take place on Monday, March 16 at the El Portal Theatre, thanks to the generous donation of the El Portal's management. The theatre is located at 5269 Lankershim Blvd in North Hollywood. Tickets are $40; $5 off if purchased in advance via PayPal.
