Hand to God is a ballsy, brassy and in-your-face consideration of life in a Southern church and its impact on the lives of its congregants, exposing the hypocrisy of small-town convention and social mores that continue to evolve at a glacial pace. You'll be singing hosannas in the show's aftermath, reveling in the knowledge that you've seen some very talented people doing what God - or any other higher power or reverential deity - must have intended from the very beginning, as in '…in the beginning…' Who knew a church's puppet ministry could be so intriguingly facile yet uproariously entertaining?

Craig Taubman is bringing his revolutionary approach to Jewish music on a national tour for the first time in three years. Taubman and his band are touring the country performing 40 concerts. The tour kicks off in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on November 13.

Ralph Lee's Mettawee River Theatre Company will return for its annual September season in the lovely Outdoor Garden of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine with 'The Dancing Fox: Wisdom Tales of the Middle East,' five enchanting tales from the shared folk traditions of Jews and Arabs, including the writings of Sufi mystics, along with fables and folklore of the region. Six weekend performances, September 5, 6, 7 and 12, 13, 14 at 7:30 PM in the Garden, entrance on 111th Street & Amsterdam Avenue.

The Children's Theater Foundation of America (CTFA) has announced that Barry Kornhauser of Millersville University, a nationally recognized playwright, director and educator has been named the recipient of its 2014 Medallion Award. The Award is regarded as the highest honor in the field of Theater for Young Audiences. This year's ceremony - where the award will be officially announced and presented -- will take place in the Imperial Ballroom of the Denver Hyatt at the annual American Alliance for Theatre and Education national conference in Denver, Colorado on Friday, August 1. Kornhauser will be attending to accept his award.

On April 9 this busy working mom-musician travels to KPC in support of her new album "No Fairy Tale." Local flamenco guitarist Andre Feriante kicks of Mother's Day weekend on May 10th with a musical tour of the Mediterranean. Andre's performance features a wine tasting, captivating stories and exotic images to accompany his stunning guitar music. And what mom wouldn't be amazed by nineteen year old jazz sax phenom Grace Kelly (featuring Tineke Postma as the opening act). Grace Kelly performs on Saturday May 11. On Mother's Day, May 12, singer and puppeteer Mallory Lewis pays tribute to her own mother - the iconic children's entertainer Shari Lewis - in a family-friendly show titled A Lamb Chop Celebration.

Ned Wertimer, a versatile and prolific character actor who was perhaps best known as Ralph the Doorman for 11 seasons on TV's The Jeffersons, has died, it was announced today by his long time manager Brad Lemack. Wertimer passed away on January 2nd at the Sherman Village Health Care Center, outside of Los Angeles, from complications following a fall in his Burbank home in late November. He was 89.
