Shakespeare at Notre Dame is in the midst of hosting two international conferences on campus as part of their "Shakespeare: 1616-2016" celebration. First up is the second iteration of 2013's Shakespeare in Prisons Conference, titled, "Shakespeare in Prisons: In Practice."

The Royal Court has worked with a group of 12 writers from Syria and Lebanon over the last two years with workshops supported by the British Council in Broumana and Beirut. These workshops have been led by playwrights David Greig, Sam Holcroft and Royal Court International Director Elyse Dodgson. Excerpts from all of the plays were presented at Al Madina Theatre in Beirut in May 2015 directed by Richard Twyman.

Gamut Theatre Group's Harrisburg Shakespeare Company (HSC) opens Lolita Chakrabarti's RED VELVET tonight, January 23, 2016 on the Select Medical Mainstage at the New Gamut Theatre located at 15 N. 4th Street in downtown Harrisburg.

Naked Shakespeare, Acorn Productions' performance series dedicated to presenting the works of the Bard in accessible ways for contemporary audiences, expands their popular series of First Friday performances next month with three performances of 'Cupid's Arrow,' a compilation of the stories of five Shakespearean romances.

Ellie Nunn, daughter of Shakespearean legend Sir Trevor Nunn, is making her West End Shakespeare debut in the role of Viola for Grassroots Shakespeare London as part of Shakespeare 400. The role was memorably played by her mother, Imogen Stubbs in the 1996 film directed by Sir Trevor.

The special program broadcast from the Royal Shakespeare Company is part of a variety of BBC shows commemorating the 400th anniversary of The Bard's passing.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company continues its season and multi-year history cycle with 'HENRY VI: The Wars of the Roses, Part 1' by William Shakespeare. This production is directed by CSC Producing Artistic Director, Brian Isaac Phillips. This production features Cincinnati Shakespeare's Resident Ensemble members including Darnell Pierre Benjamin at King HENRY VI. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

Shakespeare & Company has announced its lineup for the 2016 summer season, which includes three Shakespeare plays: The Merchant of Venice, The Two Gentlemen of Verona and Twelfth Night, plus the Regional Premieres of Or, by Liz Duffy Adams, and Lauren Gunderson's The Taming. Additional titles include Ugly Lies the Bone by Lindsey Ferrentino a bracing drama fresh from an acclaimed Off-Broadway production, Sotto Voce by Pulitzer Prize winner Nilo Cruz, and the return of Stephan Wolfert in Cry 'Havoc!'

Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF presents a modern verse translation of The Adventures of Pericles from February 24 - March 26, 2016 at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center. Pirates and shipwrecks, combat tournaments, and murder plots set the stage for Shakespeare's romantic adventure, Pericles. Lyric Opera of Chicago continues its 61st season with Romeo and Juliet in a new-to-Chicago production created by Tony Award-winning director Bartlett Sher, Monday, February 22 through Saturday, March 19(nine performances). This is the eighth and final mainstage opera production of the widely acclaimed 2015/16 season.

Lauren Brown and Chloe Courtney today announce the full cast for Russell Bolam's production of Cyrano de Bergerac. Kathryn Hunter plays the title role of Cyrano and is joined by Sabrina Bartlett as Roxane, Ellie Kendrick as Christian and by Holly Burn, Tina Chiang, Penelope Dimond, Tamzin Griffin and Kiran Sonia Sawar. The production opens on 22 February at Southwark Playhouse, with previews from 18 February, and runs until 19 March.

The Bard is back! Shakespeare 400 Chicago today announced the festival line-up for 2016, featuring 850 events on stages and in museums, restaurants, parks, schools and neighborhoods across Chicago.

Seattle's Best Damn Happy Hour, a monthly program presented by Seattle Center Productions, offers new reasons to be happy. The third Today gatherings in 2016 offer a wide range of competitions, art-related endeavors and participatory activities that supplement an array of great gaming, DJ-spun music, specialty drinks and food specials prepared by Armory merchants, 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., the third Today of each month in Seattle Center Armory.

David Goldyn Productions presents the World Premiere of DADDY ISSUES, a new comedy by Marshall Goldberg. Directed by David Goldyn, previews begin March 31 at Davenport Theatre with opening night slated for April 7.

Hartford Stage presents William Shakespeare's most popular play, ROMEO & JULIET, directed by Hartford Stage Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak, who previously helmed the critically acclaimed productions of HAMLET, MACBETH, TWELFTH NIGHT and THE TEMPEST. The tragic romance will play from February 11 through March 20 only.
