FOX Cancels Katie Finneran's I Hate My Teenage Daughter

FOX's I Hate My Teenage Daughter, starring Katie Finneran, has been canceled, Entertainment Weekly reports. The comedy will play its final episode of the season on Tuesday, April 3. A recent episode of the show only garnered 3.6 million viewers and a 1.4 rating among adults aged 18-49. FOX may air the remaining episodes over the summer.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), the nation's lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy and anti-defamation organization, today announced it will honor film and television producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (Chicago, Hairspray, Smash), writer and producer Shonda Rhimes (Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Scandal), financial services company Wells Fargo and Facebook at the 23rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards presented by Ketel One and Wells Fargo.

Celebration Theatre presents the third show of its 2011-2012 Season, THE COLOR PURPLE, book by Marsha Norman, music and lyrics by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis and Stephen Bray, musical direction by Gregory Nabours, choreography by Janet Roston and directed by Michael Matthews. THE COLOR PURPLE opened on Friday, March 9 and will perform through Saturday, May 26 at Celebration Theatre, 7051B Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood. SLOW DANCE IN MIDTOWN Opens 4/6 at Whitefire Theatre

Bella Vita Entertainment in association with the Whitefire Theatre (which is celebrating its 30th Anniversary) will present a world premiere play, SLOW DANCE IN MIDTOWN, written and directed by Elizabeth Sarnoff ("Lost," "Deadwod," Alcatraz") and stars Don Swayze, Meredith Scott Lynn, Nick Stabile and Tricia Small. SLOW DANCE IN MIDTOWN will preview on Tuesday, April 3; Wednesday, April 4 & Thursday, April 5 at 8pm and will open on Friday, April 6 and run through Saturday, May 12 at the Whitefire Theatre, 13500 Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks.

Goodspeed Musicals just announced that Tony Award-winner Kristin Chenoweth, who appeared as Annie Draper in Goodspeed's production of Strike Up The Band, will be the latest recipient of The Goodspeed Award for Outstanding Contribution to Musical Theatre at its Gala on August 11, 2012. Previous honorees include Julie Andrews, Martin Charnin, Ira Gershwin, Jerry Herman, William Ivey Long, Thomas Meehan, Michael P. Price, Gerald Schoenfeld, Stephen Schwartz, Susan Stroman, Charles Strouse, Tommy Tune and Paul Williams.
