This will be the first time in the history of the festival that a reading will add an additional performance to its run. They will be performing a concert version of this new original musical tonight, July 18, 2014 at 9pm at Ford Foundation Studio Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street, New York, NY 10036). For Tonight's story is inspired by the life of the writer's great-great-great-grandfather in the 1830's in Northern Wales/Liverpool. With its indie-rock inspired score and a completely original book, this story focuses on the universal themes of love, family and acceptance. The show will have three performances at The Studio Theatre at Theatre Row in July 2014. (more...)

Kirby Shakespeare Theatre, 36 Madison Ave. (at Lancaster Road) in Madison. Tickets for all performances are now on sale and can be purchased by calling the box office at 973-408-5600 or by visiting www.ShakespeareNJ.org. Performances are Tuesday, Wednesday and Today at 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.; and Saturday and Today at 2 p.m. The additional week will include performances on Tuesday evening, Friday evening, Saturday matinee and evening and Today matinee and evening. The Town Hall, New York's landmark theatre and concert venue continued the 6th Annual Summer Broadway Festival, with Broadway's Rising Stars last night, July 23rd at 8pm. The next generation of Broadway performers were chosen during auditions throughout the spring and come from theatrical institutions across the country, including AMDA, CAP21, Steinhardt, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Carnegie Mellon, Marymount and The New School. These young future performers then made their auspicious debut on The Town Hall stage in what has now become regarded as the country's national showcase.
