A series of live performances - including tap dancing - will take place throughout the summer in conjunction with the exhibit, JAZZED! The Changing Beat of 125th Street at the Children's Museum of Manhattan (CMOM), located at 212 West 83rd Street between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue. The exhibit itself, in partnership with the National Jazz Museum in Harlem, allows visitors to sing along with Ella Fitzgerald in the 'jazz club,' dance up the stairs with Bill 'Bojangles' Robinson's, and meet Duke Ellington and his famous jazz orchestra in the 'ballroom.' Internationally acclaimed tap dance virtuoso Savion Glover will be returning to New York City's Joyce Theater (175 Eighth Avenue) for a limited run of his new show, Savion Glover's OM this June. Performances begin tonight, June 24 and run through Sunday, July 12.

Las Vegas headliners and Australian singing sensations Human Nature were part of musical history last night, Tuesday, June 10, as they took the stage during The Apollo Theater's Spring Gala, which celebrated 80 years of iconic performers and legendary performances. Departing from its tradition of inducting legends into the Apollo Hall of Fame, this year's Gala celebrated the eight decades of artistic brilliance that have been presented on the Apollo stage since 1934. Human Nature represented the Motown era during the star studded event, performing a 15-minute hit bound set featuring tracks such as “My Girl”, “Ooh Baby Baby” and “Ain't No Mountain High Enough.” The event was hosted by Emmy Award-winning and Grammy nominated entertainer Wayne Brady.

Wednesday night at the Masonic Temple on Congress Street Portland Ovations unveiled their 84th season to Ovations Members and guests at their Annual Members-Only Preview Party.

The Pasadena Playhouse has updated the performance schedule for two unusual one-person shows - Amy G in Entershamement and Joe Orrach in In My Corner - to reopen the newly re-designed Carrie Hamilton Theatre. Entershamement has a limited run of five performances, while In My Corner runs for one night only. With these shows, that perform today, May 22 to May 31, The Playhouse is relighting the refurbished Carrie Hamilton Theatre, which has been changed from a proscenium theatre to a black box, and can be configured to accommodate many different kinds of productions.

President Nancy J. Uscher has announced that Cornish College of the Arts will award honorary degrees at this year's commencement to ground-breaking American playwright Tony Kushner and to Deborah F. Rutter, president-elect of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Mr. Kushner is the winner of the Pulitzer Prize, Tony and Emmy Awards, and a recipient of the National Medal for Arts. One of the nation's leading arts administrators, Ms. Rutter assumes leadership of the Kennedy Center in September. Most recently she has served as president of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and, prior to that, she was the executive director of the Seattle Symphony.

Over 10,000 dancers will participate in the Eighth Annual Dance Parade and Festival in New York City on Saturday May 17th 2014, starting at 1:00pm. This year's parade will feature dancers from countries around the globe, including Ukraine, Bolivia, India, Brazil, Korea, Algeria, Tahiti, Mexico, Japan, Estonia, Jamaica, China, Armenia, Spain and Indonesia. Tony Award winner, tap dancer marvel and choreographer Savion Glover and Bessie-winning founder and artistic director Jawole Willa Jo Zollar of Urban Bush Women will serve as Grand Marshals.
