Tony Award-winning dancer, choreographer and producer Savion Glover, 'possibly the best tap dancer that ever lived' according to tap legend Gregory Hines, will appear at the Gallo Center for the Arts for the first time today, March 15 with his show 'STePz.'

Under the direction of Savion Glover, STePz is yet another exuberant celebration of tap dance to sound and sound to dance. Mr. Glover returns to Harris Center for the Arts in this, his latest dance production. Mr. Glover and his ensemble of dancers (TLHS) take tap dance to new heights and levels while fusing traditional music selections of the past with his self-proclaimed tap style and energy of the future.

Ripe Time, the Brooklyn-based company led by Rachel Dickstein, has garnered acclaim for creating physically charged, visually powerful adaptations of classic and contemporary stories by authors raging from Edith Wharton to Jhumpa Lahiri. Conceived, written and directed by Dickstein, the play The World is Round epitomizes the company's work, creating from Gertrude Stein's book a fable (for grownups and mature children) full of original, live music by Heather Christian and aerial movement choreographed by Nicki Miller. Ripe Time's first new show since its celebrated Mrs. Dalloway adaptation Septimus and Clarissa (2011), The World is Round makes its world premiere April 17 - 30 at BAM Fisher (Fishman Space, 321 Ashland Place, Brooklyn).

Two jazz aficionados who know a thing or two about sports - two athletes who know their jazz? - are front and center on Sunday, March 2 when Christian McBride Presents ... Jazz Meets Sports in NJPAC's Victoria Theater. The actress navigates an obstacle course littered with difficult conditions: physical suffering, sexual obsession, self-love that loops into doubt, and fear of fateful intervention. Dramatic scenarios unfurl through dance to reveal an anti-strategy about wrestling with ambition and being female in this 21st century moment.
