The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) today announced that Emmy Award winning journalist Jose Diaz-Balart, news anchor for 'Noticiero Telemundo' and host of 'Enfoque con Jose Diaz-Balart,' will serve as celebrity host at its 36th Annual Awards Gala on October 2, 2013 in Washington, D.C. The event is the largest gathering of Latino leaders in the country and is part of CHCI's Hispanic Heritage Month events, including its 2013 Public Policy Conference and Reyes of Comedy. Diaz-Balart is celebrity hosting thanks to long time CHCI partner and Telemundo parent company, Comcast NBCUniversal.

The gala will feature a special live performance from Ms. Stritch's friend Bernadette Peters and red carpet appearances by Alec Baldwin, Liza Minnelli and James Gandolfini. Additional red carpet guests include gala co-hosts and Stella Adler alums JANE LEVY (Evil Dead, Suburgatory) and Keith Powell (30 Rock).
