The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) announced today that open submissions to the Next Link Project, which guarantees production slots in the 2013 Festival, will begin on September 17th. Registration runs through November 2 and those who submit materials by Friday, October 5 will receive a $20 discount off the standard $75 application fee. Twenty Twelve: The Launch marks the debut of TwentySomething Productions showcasing the work of Jonathan Reid Gealt, Kerrigan-Lowdermilk, Kooman & Dimond, Pasek & Paul, Ryan Scott Oliver and Joe Sterling. Composer RYAN SCOTT OLIVER (35mm, Mrs. Sharp) will offer a talkback for audiences following the Saturday September 8 matinee performance of the multi-composer musical Hot Mess in Manhattan currently running at American Theatre of Actors. Oliver is the composer of the show's opening number, "The Mess."

For generations, musical theatre writers have come to New York City to change the world. 'Once Upon A Time In New York City' is about the people who have changed THEM. This concert will feature musical theatre writers-ages 19 to 90-who were born everywhere from Kansas City to San Francisco to Montreal, established and emerging, each writing a song about someone who has changed their idea of New York City. The concert will benefit The Actors Fund.

Following the success of its 'New American Composers' Night in May 2012, The Break-Away Project will host a 'New American Musical Theatre Night', which will showcase compositions from some of America's most talented young composers. Break-Away will be hosting one of New York's finest up-and-coming composers Scott Evan Davis, described by the Huffington Post as one of America's 'must-know songwriter's' and more tonight, 21st August, 2012, in Bewley's Cafe Theatre, Grafton St., Dublin 2, Ireland.

The debut album from composer Ryan Scott Oliver, 35MM: A Musical Exhibition (Original Cast Recording), will be released digitally today, August 14th by Ghostlight Records.
