This week we are taking a listen to two wonderful releases from Broadway and West End luminaries John Barrowman and Elaine Paige. Though both have appeared on Broadway, Barrowman in PUTTING IT TOGETHER and Paige in SUNSET BLVD as well as an acclaimed appearance in SWEENEY TODD at City Opera, they are best known for their fantastic work on the West End stage, Barrowman having created roles in MATADOR and THE FIX and Paige having a legendary career creating such impressive roles as Evita, Piaf, Grizabella in CATS, Florence in CHESS, as well as THE DROWSEY CHAPERONE and other appearances in addition to a multi-decade recording and concert career. Ruthie Henshall will return to 'CHICAGO' to reprise the role of ‘Roxie Hart' from Monday 14 December for nine weeks only (14 December - 28 February). Ruthie Henshall originated the role of ‘Roxie Hart' in 1997 - for which she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award - when 'CHICAGO' first conquered the West End. As Ruthie Henshall is contracted to other commitments for selected performances between 28 December - 2 January, Bonnie Langford will play the role of ‘Roxie' for these performances. Bonnie comes to London direct from playing the role of ‘Roxie' on Broadway.

NDNU Theatre is proud to present the 24th annual production of The Gift: A Christmas Carol the Musical, based on the story by Charles Dickens and featuring an exciting musical score written by Alan Menken, with lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and book by Mike Ockrent and Lynn Ahrens. The latest installment of this community gem will once again be directed by Michael B Elkins, NDNU'S Chair of the Department of Theater and Dance. The Gift: A Christmas Carol the Musical will play a special limited engagement from December 4 - 13 with an official opening night of December 4 @ 7:00 PM.

The concert, which will be broadcast live on the internet in real time, features an overture written by Blank in addition to Johnny Mercer standards such as Moon River and Days of Wine and Roses with the BBC Concert orchestra and singers, Ruthie Henshall, Sally Ann Triplett, Nigel Harman and Curtis Stigers.

In this amusing and somewhat bittersweet interview with the BBC, Ruthie Henshall tells of being smuggled into Buckingham Palace regularly after performances of Cats in order to visit her secret boyfriend, Prince Edward. Though she was in love with the British royal, the relationship ended because she knew she could not continue her theatre career if they wed.

'One More Time,' a benefit concert hosted by Breakthrough Breast Cancer, will include perfomances by Ruthie Henshall, Hannah Waddingham, and Sally Ann Triplett, among others.

Annalene Beechey who starred in the West End productions of 'Marguerite', 'Wicked' and 'Beauty & The Beast', will release her debut solo album next month. The CD features arrangements by Peter White, Jonathan Williams and Richard Taylor.
