Fresh on the heels of a successful annual fundraising campaign that exceeded expectations, Ann Arbor's The Penny Seats theatre company announces its 2013 season.

A fixture in the Ann Arbor and Southeast Michigan theatre community now for three years, The Penny Seats Theatre Company recently announced the launch of their annual fund raising campaign with a new youtube video directed by Russ Schwartz and written by Schwartz and fellow Penny Seat board member and board secretary Jacqui Robbins.

In an internet age consumed by social media like Facebook, Twitter, and Match.com, the idea of two lonely hearts connecting as anonymous pen pals may seem quaint. The Penny Seats theatre company aims to correct that assumption with their summer production of the award-winning musical classic "She Loves Me," opening July 26 at Ann Arbor's West Park Band Shell.

Connecting Creativity: A Trans-Atlantic Co-production will feature several monologues written by Irish playwrights for American actors as well as recorded performance of the Irish company performing monologues written just for them by company members of The New Theatre Project in Michigan.

In response to audience popularity and rave reviews from critics, Performance Network's production of Melinda Lopez's SONIA FLEW has been extended for one weekend. Additional performances will be held on October 22, 23 and 24. 'Sonia Flew' is directed by David Wolber and stars Sarab Kamoo, Mila Govich, Jon Bennett, Will David Young, Christina Flynn and Russ Schwartz.

SONIA FLEW opens tonight, September 24, and runs through October 17. Weekly performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8pm, Sunday at 2pm, with 3pm matinees on Saturdays October 2 and 16.
