The theatre programme for the Manchester International Festival 2013 has been announced. MIF13 commissions include: The Machine, The Old Woman, Macbeth, The Masque of Anarchy and The Rite of Spring.

Maggie Siff plays Beatrice and Jonathan Cake Benedick in Theatre for a New Audience's new production of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Arin Arbus, opened on February 17 at The Duke on 42nd Street, 229 West 42nd Street. 59E59 Theaters will welcome the US premiere of THE GIRL I LEFT BEHIND ME, written by Neil Bartlett and Jessica Walker, and directed by Mr. Bartlett to Brits Off Broadway. THE GIRL I LEFT BEHIND ME begins performances on Tuesday, April 30 for a limited engagement through Sunday, May 19. Press opening is Sunday, May 5 at 7:30 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 PM; Friday at 8:30 PM; Saturday at 2:30 PM & 8:30 PM; and Sunday at 3:30 PM & 7:30 PM. Commissioned by the Finborough Theatre, and another in its series of acclaimed rediscoveries of Scottish writers, the English premiere of Stewart Conn's I Didn't Always Live Here opens at the Finborough Theatre for a four week limited season on Tuesday, 26 March 2013 (Press Night: Thursday, 28 March at 7.30pm).

When our heroine cleverly escapes, a lyrical love story laced with devilish humor unfolds. The production features a bluegrass score by longtime Kneehigh composer Stu Barker, performed by live musicians and the cast.

Tim Minchin, the acclaimed Australian comedian, musician and composer/lyricist of the Olivier Award winning MATILDA THE MUSICAL will make his US cabaret debut on Saturday evening March 2 at 11 PM at 54 BELOW.

Following tonight's February 22nd 8pm performance of SECRETS, the Untold Story of Sigmund Freud & Carl Jung, an original play written & directed by Ken Wydro, two noted psychoanalysts will take part in a panel discussion about the careers & philosophies of Freud & Jung. SECRETS dramatizes the intense personal & professional relationship between Sigmund Freud & Carl Gustav Jung in the early years of psychoanalysis, 1907 - 1913 & is based on the 1000 letters shared by both men.

UW School of Drama presents David Edgar's Pentecost, directed by MFA in Directing candidate Andrew McGinn, in his thesis production at the Jones Playhouse. Previews begin tonight, February 20, 2013. The production runs through Sunday, March 3, and features performers from the School of Drama's graduate and undergraduate programs.

On the Verge will present Michael Milligan's new play, Mercy Killers, at the Van Fleet tonight, Feb. 20th thru March 9th. The Columbus run performed by the author is a part of the 'Mercy Killers Tour'- a collaboration with Single Payer Action Network. SPAN is organizing performances around Ohio to help raise awareness about the growing dysfunction of the American health care system.

Cameron Mackintosh announced today that his acclaimed new production of Alain Boublil & Claude-Michel Schonberg's Tony Award-winning musical masterpiece LES MISERABLES will come to Broadway in March, 2014 at a Shubert theater to be announced. This newly re-imagined LES MISERABLES is breaking box-office records across the country and around the world and inspired filmmakers to make the immensely successful movie which has been nominated for eight Academy Awards including Best Picture and has won 3 Golden Globes including Best Picture, as well as 4 BAFTA's.
