Epic Theatre Ensemble presents the world premiere production of Pike St., Nilaja Sun's first solo show since her international hit, the OBIE Award-winning No Child.... Pike St., written and performed by Ms. Sun and directed by Epic's Executive Director Ron Russell, began performances on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in the experimental theater at Abrons Art Center (466 Grand Street). The production just opened Sunday, November 15th at 8:00 PM. Check out photos below!

The second season of Live Arts Bard (LAB), a program of the Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Bard College, provides residencies for six American artists and ensembles making work that spans and transcends the fields of theater, performance, dance, music, film, and live art. Spring 2014 resident artists are Sarah Michelson, Nature Theater of Oklahoma, Geoff Sobelle, and Nilaja Sun. John Kelly and Robert Woodruff were LAB resident artists in fall 2013.

On November 14th, Brooklyn-based company Opera on Tap will bring its hit opera SMASHED: The Carrie Nation Story by composer James Barry and librettist Timothy Braun to Freddy's Bar and Backroom in a new fully-immersive production. Dubbed by Feast of Music as an 'hilarious slapstick-style opera,' the show will take place in Freddy's front room at 8pm and will be free of charge.

It's one thing for a dancer over 40 to do a cabaret show. It's quite another for a dancer over 80 to attempt one. But that's exactly what still spry 83-year-old song and dance man George Marcy is going to do--tapping his way over to Don't Tell Mama for the second time in three years--when he takes the stage (today September 23 and 29, both at 8pm) for his new show, I Wish I Were Twins. Marcy's latest cabaret effort is being director by famed Broadway Musical star and Marcy's good friend Carol Lawrence. The Musical Director/Pianist is Christine Sutin, with Boots Maleson on bass, and AaRon Russell on drums.
