First came Hair, then, Jesus Christ Superstar -- which led to Rent and Spring Awakening. Now comes "THE 12", an original rock musical written by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, ROBERT SCHENKKAN, with Music, Lyrics, and Story concept by award winning composer, NEIL BERG. The World Premiere preview performances will take place at Riverspace in Nyack, NY, March 19 - 21, 2010 before its World Premiere at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, April 1st (Ft. Lauderdale, FL).

Full casting has been announced for Riverspace's upcoming production of Neil Berg's THE 12. The cast will include Ron Bohmer (The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Ragtime) as 'Peter,' Jeremey Kushnier (Rent, Footloose) as 'Thomas,' Lawrence Clayton (Dreamgirls, The Civil War) as 'Matthew,' and Sean Jenness (The Civil War, Doug Flutie Band) as 'Bart.'

The Column Awards, a 501(c)3 nonprofit honoring excellence in theater in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, presented its 11th annual awards last night in Carpenter Hall at the Irving Arts Center. Uptown Players and Plaza Theatre Company tied for most wins with 10 each. In all, 17 theaters companies shared 62 awards, divided between Equity and non-Equity productions.

This week, Broadway Musicals of 1927 kicked off the Town Hall's 10th Anniversary season of the critically acclaimed Broadway By The Year® series. Alexander Gemignani directed and starred in the show alongside Finian's Rainbow's Kate Baldwin and Christopher Fitzgerald, Melinda Sullivan, Kendrick Jones, Carole Bufford, Marc Kudisch (9 to 5), Chad Kimball (Memphis), and Quentin Earl Darrington, Bobby Steggert, Ron Bohmer, and Christiane Noll from Ragtime. Broadway Musicals of 1927 is created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel for The Town Hall. Ross Patterson musical directed the event, beginning his tenth season as the musical director of Broadway by the Year®.
