After the universal acclaim that accompanied Caldwell Theatre's 2009 Summer season, (Vices: A Love Story, The Whipping Man) Artistic Director Clive Cholerton, has chosen again to counter program against traditional summer fare, and will produce a World premiere in Joel Gross's highly emotional romantic drama, The Comfort of Darkness, preceded by the Southeastern premiere of Bob Clyman's successful comedic thriller, Secret Order.

Neil Berg's new cabaret show, RISE UP: The Theater Songs of Neil Berg, comes to Feinstein's, hosted by Rob Evan, and featuring a star-studded cast, including current Wicked star Mandy Gonzalez, and special guest, Academy Award-winner F. Murray Abraham, and others for a performance July 18, 2010 at 8:30pm.

I will leave it to you, dear readers, if you decide to take in a performance of Jerry Mayer's Dietrich and Chevalier, to determine for yourselves if it's better off being a play peppered with just a few musical moments or a full-out concert with just a smattering of narrative.  As it stands now, the two-act piece with a plot that continually gets halted to present its collection of fifteen musical hits trudges along without much purpose.

Robert Cuccioli will direct Frank Wildhorn and Leslie Bricusse's JEKYLL AND HYDE at the Westchester Broadway Theatre, the theatre's official website announces. Cuccioli played the title roles in the original Broadway production of JEKYLL AND HYDE and was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance.

On Monday, June 7, at 6:30 pm, Red Bull Theater will honor F. Murray Abraham, Michael Stuhlbarg, Howard Owens, and The Angelo Patri Middle School at their 'Running of the Bulls' benefit.

Mitzi Gaynor, legendary Hollywood star of such films as South Pacific and There's No Business Like Show Business, stopped by to visit the cast of the new musical Dietrich & Chevalier during their rehearsals. (They begin performances June 5).

Yesterday, May 11th film producer Ted Kurdyla took over the off-Broadway theatre 45 Bleecker Street to present a reading of Vincent Gogliormella and Charles Messina's screenplay ‘TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE A BROOKLYN CHRISTMAS. The event was geared towards the many members of the industry that have expressed interest in the very buzzed about comedy. Both film and Broadway investors were in attendance. BroadwayWorld was on hand to capture the event.
