BOWIE, Md., May 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ Jennifer Barnes and John Lawson, owners of publishing company Raw Dog Screaming Press, find themselves receiving international attention after news that 20 th Century Fox will make a novel of theirs into a major motion picture. Writer/filmmaker S. Craig Zahler's Wraiths of the Broken Land, published in 2013 by RDSP, will be director Ridley Scott's entry into the western genre. Hoping to recreate its success from The Martian 20 th Century Fox is again pairing Scott with screenwriter Drew Goddard. Producers Simon Kinberg, Michael Schaefer, and Aditya Sood are returning to work on Wraiths, completing The Martian's creative team. This move continues last year's trend of turning to small publishers when planning blockbusters.

Jeff Daniels has done it all. The actor is well known for his performances on TV and the big screen as well as his work as a musician and playwright. This season he has picked up his second Tony nomination (Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play) for his portrayal of Ray in BLACKBIRD, opposite Michelle WIlliams. The Old Globe to Offer Free Screening of THE CITIZEN, Starring Khaled Nabawy

In conjunction with the West Coast premiere of Camp David, The Old Globe will hold a free screening of the film The Citizen Egyptian film star and political activist Khaled Nabawy, who stars as Anwar Sadat in the Globe's production of Camp David. The film, which explores the search for the American Dream within the American reality, will screen on Monday, May 23, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. in the Globe's Hattox Hall. KPBS Arts & Culture Reporter and Cinema Junkie Beth Accomando will introduce the film and moderate a short Q&A discussion with Nabawy immediately after.
