42nd Street Moon's Artistic Director, Greg MacKellan, today announced casting for the first production of the 2010-11 Season: Broadway's greatest musical farce, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM.

Artistic Director Robert Lyons proudly presents the 17th annual Ice Factory summer festival of new work. Ice Factory 2010 opens July 7th, presenting six New York premieres in six weeks, and wraps up August 14th.

Village Originals has announced the official selections for the 10th Annual Festival of New Musicals taking place August 12-15, 2010 at the Francis J. Gaudette Theatre in Issaquah. This is an invitation only event, not open to the public. The Annual Festival of New Musicals has become a jumping off point for a number of Village Theatre's most popular new works. Leading writers and producers from across the world come together for this invite-only event to be part of the process of developing new musicals. Since 2001, the Village Originals Festival has developed over 50 new musicals and worked with over 100 authors.

Yesterday, August 2, the cast and creative team of the 2008 Tony and Grammy Award-winning Best Musical In The Heights, starring Corbin Bleu, toasted their 1,000th performance on Broadway. Partaking in the toast was In the Heights mastermind himself, Lin-Manuel Miranda, who recently joined the Heights tour out west. IN THE HEIGHTS, winner of four 2008 Tony Awards and the 2008 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album, is coming to the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa from August 3 - 15, 2010. The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra delighted a crowd of close to 2,000 Broadway theater fans at their final summer concert on July 24, a muggy, sultry evening. Making his Baltimore Symphony Orchestra debut as conductor was Randall Craig Fleischer who did a masterful job dealing with the two marvelous soloists, Doug LaBrecque and Patricia Phillips.

Daniel Radcliffe will make his Broadway musical debut as J. Yesterday, July 29, actor/singer Corbin Bleu attended the IN THE HEIGHTS 'Graduate To New Heights' scholarship presentation at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City. A check for 17 thousand dollars was given to Rutgers student Rebecca Cunarro after the July 29th performance. BroadwayWorld brings coverage of the event below.
